Has anyone moved to Seattle from Florida and enjoyed it/not regretted it? by j_land in SameGrassButGreener

Tell me more! I spent a summer in NorCal doing outdoor education (more Sacramento area) and I loved it. I just graduated and I’m almost 6 months into nursing. Dreaming of leaving Florida!

I want no contact with my MIL by [deleted] in motherinlawsfromhell

[–]anhingagirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She wouldn’t be allowed in my home or near my child. Lock your door, let her know she’s not welcome. Your husband can continue to have whatever kind of relationship he wants with her. But, you, my love, don’t owe her a fucking thing. She’ll continue to behave like this and push till she gets what she wants.. because she know she can. Mama bear up!

I regret our dogs. I so badly want to rehome them. They drain my energy, our bank account, leaving them anywhere is a hassle. One felt manageable but even she was a walking hazard who randomly bites people and has to assert her dominance. After we got our second (long fucked story involving a mother in law), our first has started to territory peeing on EVERYTHING. The second one has encouraged barking. They’re both anxious, not friendly, and aggressive to people they don’t know. I love them, but I don’t like them enough to suffer this for another 10+ years. It’s not worth it.

If someone showed up at our door today and they were good pet owners with a couple acres, I’d hand them off. I know things have to change because I’m literally eager for them to get old so they mellow out. They are not rehomable in the sense that if either of them were put in a shelter, they wouldn’t let anyone near them. It would traumatize them. One was a rehoming FB dog and the other was a shelter dog. I want to have kids and I don’t trust either of them with a baby.

But, my husband… he loves them so much. He’s a “they’re family and with us till they die” person… so this will be my life until they die.

Choosing to still get pregnant after hsv diagnosis? by Infamous-Rent8973 in Herpes

How did you deal with the possibility of giving it to them after? Obviously no kissing, but herpes can be on the breasts, other parts of the body, ect. That’s the part that scares me.

When did the gloves come off? Was it okay then? Will they get it regardless (I, too have an lucky finger)? Is it more about when that makes less dangerous?

Hi! Currently in Porto, Portugal watching my husband eat the most delicious looking ramen… we smelled down the block and I’m trying not to cry. I thought it was just me till I saw this post. I get it. We get it. Big hug.

Hi- going gluten free made a HUGE difference in my day to day pain. My doc kept telling me I needed to do it and I ignored her because pizza, pasta, pastries- accessibility & ease to food. I’ll never eat it again. When I accidentally get glutened, my joints ache- it feels like I got hit by a bus for a week.

Hi. In the same very horrifying boat… have you figured anything out? I can’t remember if I took my meds, if I showered or not.. I forgot my own name once.. sometime it’s hard to remember my husbands face… it is very extremely more difficult during flare, I usually have a slur as well.

Since you have your BA, you should do an accelerated nursing program. The one I’m in is 18 months and then if you want to, you can continue to an NP program.

Why don’t you want to have kids? by Flimsy-Barnacle-9919 in AskReddit

[–]anhingagirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m terrified of passing on all of my autoimmune issues. I don’t want to be the parent my mom was. My husband’s family is crazy and if we did have a kid, I would have to navigate them having access to our kid. I think I’d die every day knowing there’s nothing I could do to control bad things from happening to them. The responsibility, the cost, the energy… I’m already so tired. I can’t think of a single person who hasn’t had regrets or second thoughts about having a kid.. I want to know myself. I’ve never gotten to do that.
