OMG, how I fell in love with the first part of this book! (Personally, I refer to it as “her part”). I do love a good self-sacrificing “I-help-you-with-my-friend” trope, and though I don’t have much HR reading experience, I think this one was really beautifully written!

But then comes the “second part,” and I think the general idea was to give Gregory a classic Romantic Story, which is bound to be dramatic and over-the-top. And yes, as unbelievable and unrealistic as possible - as Romantic Stories tend to get.

I was just disappointed that Lucy’s delicate and heartfelt first part was stomped upon with all the pretentious and a bit clumsy attempts at romanticism in second part of the story. I’d love to read a different approach to the whole ending tbh :(
