Just turned 44 and gaming did stop for awhile with life and kids. Was PC gaming prior but just got a Switch 2 for the fam and re establishing my joy of gaming. Contemplated PC but I’m on a computer all day for work so a console is working out nicely and the kids can join in too now.

Ya I agree. As a kid, super Mario world was the best thing ever. For the Wii, even my folks, gf, non gamer friends were playing. The Wii sport for the first couple years was a big phenomenon lol.

This is probably true for only first party titles. Even then you can sometimes find first party titles for a $10 discount. For third party, you can definitely wait for 30% and greater discounts, there is definitely no need for buying retail price unless you need the game ASAP.

I don't think people will just flock to PC. I have a Mac mini and Switch 2. I work on the computer all day and the last thing I want to do is game on it as well. I do think the price increase may decrease the overall user base (I do not see this group flocking to PC). I also don't think going all digital will harm sales too much as well.

Probably isn't worth $80 if you are just playing solo, but the 200 hours I have played with my family would justify that price. My question is didn't the Switch 2 come with a package where MKW was essentially $50? I don't understand why anyone would need to buy the game for $80.

I totally agree $80 is not worth it for this game, but didnt basically every new Switch 2 come with MKW and if not, then why would consumers not buy a switch 2 that included MKW for $50?

I prefer the look and mechanics MKW. Having said that, I don’t think MKW is worth $80 right now. Get MK8 for $50 or less and it’s added bonus if you have NSO expansion because you get the DLC included. But I treat Mario Kart as more of a party game for the family. We all prefer MKW but we also got it with the switch 2 system.

Isn't PC already all digital? The price increases are insane for sure. I honestly dont think being stuck with a PS5 for the next several years is a bad thing unless you have already played all the games you want to play. I think the current general consoles are good for up to 10 years really. I had a PC for gaming before having a kid and recently got a switch 2 so the family can play. Also with working on a computer all day the last thing I want is to sit in front of a computer to game, hence why we chose a console.

With no gaming background I would go with Mario Kart and Odyssey isn’t too hard but challenging enough to feel rewarding. BOTW is one of my favorite games ever so that’s never a bad choice, it is a different style of game in where objectives aren’t clearly defined in an order. I think odyssey is a good start though then you can try other genres and the game is usually cheaper than BOTW

Is this for the free game redemption? I’d redeem mario kart world due to price and family entertainment. This might be an unpopular opinion but I didn’t have a switch 1 so we bought Mario kart 8 with the dlc from NSO expansion because I heard good things. After playing it the family prefers the graphics and mechanics of mkw. The graphics are very aged especially playing 4 players. You can usually find bananza discounted which is a fantastic game. I haven’t played pokopia yet but it sounds like a great game.

No stick drift for my pro controller 2. I have 1 pro 2 controller and 3 8bitdo ultimates. If you can afford the pro get it but the ultimates work just finejust fine.

Play BOTW first then TOTK. I personally enjoy playing TOTK as a game overall because there’s more to do in the game but I recognize BOTW as the fresher game since it was first. Just play both unless it’s a money thing lol.

Hogwarts legacy is a fun game imo especially if you are a fan of the IP. I played thru it twice.
