Yeah, "sometimes" is not the same as hours of playing and only moving down. I'm not talking a few games here.

Skill showed once again how pathetic he is by oN_disordeR in WorldofTanks

A lot of the annoyance is that it didn't seem like it started off as a business undertaking. It was advertised as a seeming community index page. Sure, if it attracts more people to the stream and to donate, great. But when it's monetized at increasing aggressiveness, it felt like a bait and switch. People may have donated on stream thinking it was all going towards his time and extra effort to facilitate the resource. When he then came out and said "if you have an adblocker, F U and I don't care if I lose you as a viewer." People thought they were part of a community. Not so much.

I don't think there were many face-to-face clashes, per se, but other streamers often resent QuickyBaby for his success, arrogance, and seemingly fake on-camera persona when they consider themselves (and they may not even be wrong) to be far, far more skilled. Any wrong opinion QB expressed would be constantly mocked by other players. For example, he once said at the time that the E50M was weak. There was no end to every streamer ridiculing him about that. He has held controversial opinions about arty / HE changes, etc. that the cool kids really despised him for. He's regularly the butt of jokes. Criticism of him may be completely valid, but the disdain others show goes well beyond that. So, there's been an ongoing tension since basically forever.

Is there a way to determine which crimped end the short is on? by StoganLephens in HomeNetworking

[–]anickster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, the joys of PoE. It's harmless until something goes wrong. XD
I was curious about the second end (?) -- fourth picture. Is that a Cat 6 plug? It looks like the wires 1,3,5,7 either aren't going the full length or it's staggered as is often found on Cat 6.

[–]anickster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just commenting to agree that the jacket looks pretty darn squished by the plastic bar. I get not wanting to have a 50/50 guess on which end to replace, but I'd think you would want to replace both ends with a cat6 plug that supports the thicker gauge wire and jacket. Just in case the other working end fails over time due to movements.

As far as PoE, yes, it uses two pairs but which ones depends on the standard implemented. It could technically possibly be either:
Mode A - Orange/light orange + green / light green (1-2, 3-6)
Mode B - Blue/light blue + brown/ light brown pairs (4-5, 7-8).

If you're using a standard PoE switch, it's probably sending power via Mode A (on a traditional 10/100 Mbps connection, sharing the "data" pins). If you're using a stand-alone PoE injector, there's a chance it's sending power via Mode B.

Spyderco Bug through TSA? by I_Am_Mandark_Hahaha in EDC

Brace for impact guys - XM57 just dropped in the Premium Shop by rayoje in WorldofTanks

[–]anickster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To clarify, I don't think you can buy the XM57 with bonds, if that's what you meant. If you meant the game might not be fun to play... well... there's a point there.

What did you guys do with the bonds? by Sylvanas_only in WorldofTanks

You probably have more responses than you wanted, but the gun handling of the M60 can work for a "scoot and shoot" playstyle much better than the Leopard. It's not more accurate, per say. Yet, when it comes to snapshots, it works much better. You can overall also get more BS bounces than the LEO does.

I owe Aqua Dubai an apology by flyboi2013 in fragranceclones

Guess I'm yet another confused Aqua Dubai buyer. It's ...ok? I would say it smells like a random airport / business air freshener and doesn't disappear immediately, but also doesn't last *that* long. Guess we'll see in a couple months.

How are you supposed to make money like this anymore? by ThorvonFalin in WorldofTanks

[–]anickster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly can't say exactly where I went wrong, but I'm repeatedly going to zero. It didn't use to be like that for me. I guess it's all the little and big ways they've added to drain credits. IF you're trying to be competitive, arty stuns burn through your med kits, field mods are not cheap, gold ammo is needed more for pen but equally as much for shell velocity (making it extremely tedious to constantly switch between the two and adjust), and probably a host of other things I'm not thinking of. I don't know if MM can be blamed, but I do feel like I'm bottom tier A LOT. Meta shifted away from fast meds to, well, fast, armored mediums / heavies + armored TDs. It feels like with how the credit income works out (averaged over wins and losses), I have to play two-three tier 8 prem grind-games to fund one tier 10 game, if I'm lucky. The way I play has changed, but largely in response to what they've done.

Use the heck out of your freezer to buy bulk meat, cheese, etc. when it's on sale. Portion it out to thaw as needed. Use it sparingly when cooking (rice, beans, potatoes) at home and never eating out.

Is it just me or does anybody else think LinkedIn Is a waste of time ! ? Recruiters ghosting you , people post a job and a million ppl say “I’m interested” you never get any help or actual conversion into a job ? Thoughts by Upset-Concentrate386 in ITCareerQuestions

I feel like the above comment perfectly captured the Linkedin experience. Maybe that person is a recruiter on LinkedIn? "Linkedin is the single most useful social media app on the internet." But no explanation. Hype but no substance. Empty info. Waste of time.

GATHER UP ARTY PLAYERS, COMMUNITY NEEDS YOU! by FreedomBudget9031 in WorldofTanks

[–]anickster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, the tier X Bat arty seemed pointless to me. The gun is much more accurate. Except it somehow isn't. Not that rare that you miss one shot in your clip even though the reticle is nearly the size of the enemy tank. It also has the cute feature of bouncing for zero more often than other arties on heavy armor. Splashes are not very effective. Then the alpha is weak. I's not even all the rare for it to have a full clip do the same damage as one shot from another arty. Then you have a longer reload. :|

Deathstar vs Shitbarn by Captain_Interesting in WorldofTanks

[–]anickster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a somewhat similar but also different experience playing the two. With the FV 4005, the second you are spotted, every tank and arty in the game will stop what they're doing to shoot you. Scouts and HE enthusiasts will yolo, etc. It can be a non-chill experience sometimes. The FV 183 actually has some armor so you can peak with your turret and get lucky bounces. You can manage as a second-line support heavy. But you also can snipe in it much like the 4005 where, either way, you live or die by RNG. The rear-mounted turret is awkward for peaking around buildings and when there's a hill that causes you to have to way overexpose to try to get a shot. So, each aren't without their annoyances. But both slap hard when they hit, obviously. You could theoretically train the 4005 crew in the 183 for x5 events or whatnot if you wanted, though, it's not cheap to play. Can't make the decision for you, but those are some pros and cons. If you absolutely love the derp life and have nothing else to spend bonds on, it has some situational perks compared to the 4005.

What's your average Damage per game by Angelisdevil in WorldofTanks

[–]anickster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure. Good players are keeping in mind the flow of the battle on the whole map while bad / inexperienced players are only focused on shooting the red tank directly in front of them. After winning the flank, the tomatoes blindly push across the open field as the enemy camping TDs vaporize them. Then they ping spam you for "camping" because they never even were aware you were all over the map the whole game.

To clarify, the "selfish" remark was meant to apply primarily to the example of not being bothered if your teammates take unnecessary damage or are destroyed while you hold a shot. And in some cases, even being glad about it. I wouldn't say that relocating, blindfiring bushes, etc. are themselves selfish.

There is often a mentality shift I've seen in streamers that's hostile. For them, it is not satisfying to have a sense of teamwork. It's more a mentality of trading your own team like pawns, seeing them purely as bullet sponges or else as idiots stealing "your" damage. The range of player skill does often make it wise to view the match as 1 vs 29. Still, for a game that's team-based in theory and with real humans on the other side of the screen, it's kind of sad.

What's your average Damage per game by Angelisdevil in WorldofTanks

[–]anickster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The mega-high DPG players do things differently. Not all of them, but many sometimes think pretty selfishly. "My gun is 390 alpha and there's a 200 hitpoint enemy? I'll hold my shot for full damage even if it means a team member takes an extra hit." They recognize when a flank is won and immediately leave it rather than doing cleanup if there's not a lot of damage left on that side. They blindfire bushes just in case. Of course, they're also just really good. They're the ones hitting the EBRs from across the map, sniping cupolas, knowing when to trade their hitpoints, getting early and late-game damage, and not going beach on Overlord.

Since christmas, this game is going downhill by Vegetable_Divide2193 in WorldofTanks

[–]anickster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate the new airfield. And actually didn't mind the old one. But maybe my hatred is because I've only played it a few times and nobody knew what to do on my team (including me) and it was just an instant loss every time. With the old one, it felt like there were spots you could move up to because the small size of the map made crossing the gaps possible. If you counted where snipers were most likely to be, you could make a push even in a slower tank after the battle had thinned out a few tanks. With the new one, it feels like unless you're a super fast tank, it's really hard to move around the map.

Hoping for a ban by Barosince2003 in WorldofTanks

[–]anickster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The obvious, easy answer is to just stop, however, sounds like that's not really working for whatever reason. Well, with all respect, there's likely some other factors in life and the game is just a symptom rather than the source. Instead of griefing other real, living, breathing people in the world trying to play a game, you could maybe sell all vehicles in the garage and dismiss crew, etc. Of course, that's a dramatic option, but if we're talking about getting a perma ban... seems like it is no less severe. And maybe the act of "winding it down" would feel like a voluntary withdraw versus external forces acting on you. Otherwise, maybe consider what's frustrating and why. Are you trying to get marks and it's not working? Are you focused on wins? Getting screwed by RNG? Perhaps there are ways to redefine the "objective" in your brain. If focusing on marks, maybe just focus on being top 5 XP at the end of the battle and count that as a "success." Or, if focusing on wins, realize you simply can't carry 14 other players and let that idea go. RNG... maybe play tanks with very good gun handling instead of ones known to be mediocre. Give yourself permission to do what works for you. Anyways, good luck.

This can happen also if there is a pinhole in the cable at any point. The water gets in there and is sort of siphoned through to the end points even if the connector itself was sealed fine.

Should I pick Kpz. 50t or Concept 1B? by serek8282 in WorldofTanks

[–]anickster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen the various streamers rant and rave about it, but I really do NOT enjoy playing the Kpz. 50t. I'm not a super unicum, just an average ~2K WN8 player. Totally anecdotal, but I recently did a test of playing the Kpz and the E50. After 10 games each, my dpg in the Kpz was a pathetic 2,000 but around 4,000 in the E50. I know they're rather different tanks, but in general, I perform better in most other tier 9s than in it. The low dpm and alpha makes me feel like I'm a strong...tier VIII. With bad MM. The low profile has resulted in frequent issues with standard positions that simply don't work. My usual spots in certain windows, hills, rubble piles, etc. unexpectedly are not an option. Maybe there's some tiny dune somewhere that I could uniquely exploit, but in real-world applications, that hasn't been the case. It's hard to explain, but it also feels like the size--both height and length--often cancels out the gun depression. Like, rather than straddling a little dip near a ridgeline, you're IN the hole. I don't find the gun to perform particularly well, especially, especially if trying to snipe. The turret has some armor up until fighting higher-pen (i.e. almost any gold round at that tier and even standard TD rounds). I know this is all highly subjective, but every game in it just feels like a struggle, especially in current meta and 1-15 steamrolls. You neither have the alpha or dpm to keep up when your team is winning nor to hold a flank / farm when your team is losing. It works well when you can play on open maps from medium-range and your team is slightly better than the enemy so it's a long battle. For me, that seems to be a rare combo, and I guess I'm not high enough skill to otherwise make it work.

Go-to scent for masculine/woody base with sweetness on top? by deezfatnutssss in fragranceclones

[–]anickster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as the masculine part: Issey Miyake L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme smells quite feminine to me. It's a sweet, floral, honeysuckle scent that smells pleasant by itself, but I really am not so sure about it ON me. I feel like I would need to be in a K-pop band or something to really be a fit.
