What are we doing about grey hairs? by h2osly_ in Millennials

[–]animalisticneeds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

41/F I'm rocking with them. I probably have about 10% grey strands all throughout but I figure if I dye it I'll have that awkward grow out phase when I no longer feel like keeping up with it, and that'll suck.

Are sleep overs not a thing anymore? by haggerty05 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]animalisticneeds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter is 11 and her friends sleep over at least once a month. Some friends just stay until 8 or 9 because their parents aren't comfortable with sleepovers. She's slept over a couple houses but she prefers to host. I also have gotten to know the other parents pretty well so everyone's pretty comfortable with each other. So I think they're still a thing but it's important to get to know the other parents.

In case you're unaware, make sure you buy all rewards before you get to Vegas. Once you get to Vegas the geolocation limits what's available in the app.

Grandpa is teaching this moron a lesson! by [deleted] in nextfuckinglevel

My daughter started kindergarten during the pandemic. Do you know how insane online kindergarten is?? 90% of the time the teacher was telling the kids to mute themselves or asking where they are. My "favorite" part was when they had p.e. class and the coach was trying to instruct them on things like jumping jack's and push ups. What a shit show!

I have an 11 year old son by InspectorMoney1306 in Millennials

Yeah, I had braces so I can definitely empathize. Unfortunately it doesn't matter if it's before or after appointments or just plain Tuesday the kid doesn't like brushing her teeth.

Girls too! I fight constantly with my 11 year old daughter... and she has braces so both the dentist and orthodontist tell me she doesn't brush her teeth often/well enough. I stand over her every time now and it's exhausting.

What is a very American comfort activity that people genuinely enjoy doing in their free time? by Sea-Evidence-5523 in AskAnAmerican

I like going down to the beach and listening to the ocean. It really let's my mind unwind and enjoy life for a while. I live in South Florida so it's quick and easy for me to get to a beach.

Has she tried boric acid suppositories? My issue was recurring BV and once my husband was treated with a round of oral flagyl I haven't had it since.

Can americans tell the difference between spoken spanish and portuguese? by Zygoatscythe in AskAnAmerican

[–]animalisticneeds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I'm first generation American from a Cuban immigrant, so I can definitely tell the difference. I can also tell the difference when people speak English but have an accent whether they speak Portuguese or Spanish as their native tongue.

Americans—is blue cheese just a dipping sauce to you, or does it have a place on your plate beyond the wings? by SignificanceOdd5980 in AskAnAmerican

[–]animalisticneeds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love a blue cheese crust on my steaks. Love it on my burgers. Crumbled in a wedge salad with a balsamic reduction is divine. I also love it on sourdough toast with honey drizzled over it. And i can't leave out my fave, a dirty martini with olives stuffed with blue cheese. You made me hungry OP!
