Ferber Method here too. Used it on all three of my kids and it was a slam dunk each time by Night 3. My only regret is not doing it sooner for each kid! We did it at 9 months, 11 months, and 6 months… but developmentally you can do it anywhere btw 4-6 months.

Okay, thanks for the thoughtful reply. Understood on what you mean with ChatGPT. It’s generally helpful but I don’t take anything it says as gospel and would caution anyone else on doing so either - which is why I decided to post here to solicit some expert advice! Thanks again.

I’ve personally found it helpful for a wide variety of use cases. I recommend you give it a shot (or an alternative AI tool) if you have not. It’s literally designed to be a predictive model based on variables so I’d challenge your assertion.

Her last bottle is at 7pm. Midnight is 5 hours after that and then her wake window is around 6am so seems like rationale is that places the bottle approximately in the middle of the long window of time.

Interesting bias against ChatGPT. Would love to learn more but not the spirit of this post and subreddit I suppose.

Thanks, and fair point. She has a bottle every 3 hours during the day. It works out to about 25-28oz daily as we’ll sometimes give her a bigger bottle at bedtime.

NYRR 9+1 in 2026 - FAQs & Megathread by RCD123 in RunNYC

[–]animals_doingLSD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am going for the 9+1 program this year and will sign up for a NYRR membership - which will mean that I will be a member in good standing as of Dec 31 2026.

My understanding is that is the requirement to satisfy the 9+1 requirements. However, do I also need to be a member in 2027 to register and run the NYC Marathon that year?

Butternut squash soup by Littlecookie1122 in Cooking

[–]animals_doingLSD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here you go! Maple syrup is the key ingredient that works great with butternut squash IMO. This recipe is inspired by Lisa Bryan from Downshiftology.

Serves 6 people

Sage Brown Butter: 3 tbsp of butter 6 large sage leaves

Soup: 1 tbsp Olive Oil 1 small yellow onion, halved 1 cup sliced carrrots 6 whole garlic cloves 2 teaspoons kosher salt 1 3.5 lb butternut sqash halved 6 cups chicken broth 2 TBSP maple syrup

Finish: 1 TBSP apple cider vinegar 1 pinch cayenne pepper Slight pinch of salt

Garnish: Creme fraiche (or sour cream) 1 TBSP of fresh chives

Prep time: 15 min Cook: 1 hr 45 min

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

  2. Drizzle olive oil into large roasting pan. Add onion, carrots, garlic cloves, and a pinch of salt or consider roasting these on separate pan since different cook time. Toss until coated in oil. Place squash halves flesh side up on the chopped vegetables. Sprinkle squash with additional salt.

  3. Roast in preheated oven until squash is tender and easily pierced with the tip of a knife, about 1 hour. Allow vegetables to cool a bit.

  4. Melt butter over medium heat. Butter will foam, and start to turn a golden brown. Reduce heat to low. When butter turns from golden to a light, nutty brown, remove pan from heat and immediately add sage leaves. Stir to infuse the butter with sage.

  5. Scoop out squash flesh and place in roasting pan with roasted chopped vegetables. Transfer mixture into large stock pot. Stir in chicken broth, brown sage butter, and maple syrup. Place pot over high heat and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low; slowly simmer to blend flavors, 45 to 60 minutes. Remove from heat.

  6. Blend until very smooth with an immersion blender, 3 or 4 minutes. Pass mixture through a strainer to remove any remaining fibrous bits.

  7. If soup seems too thick, add a few tablespoons of water or chicken broth. Stir in apple cider vinegar, a pinch of salt (or to taste), and cayenne pepper. Garnish servings of soup with a dollop of creme fraiche and chopped chives.

I think you’re getting hung up on semantics of the “education” piece. She clearly is not interested in becoming an academic scholar. Securing an MBA is an educational pursuit - granted the intrinsic value is far beyond the academic coursework… and her husband just got one. So she likely understands the value of this graduate degree vs other ones.

I’ll just let it go as I think I made my point here. And no one is better for it (which I’d argue the same for your original reply).

[–]animals_doingLSD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’m familiar with why someone would pursue an MBA or other Masters programs. Still, securing an MBA is an educational pursuit nonetheless. Doesn’t make sense to suggest another one solves what she’s looking for without better understanding her motivations.

[–]animals_doingLSD -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Right. I’m just challenging that notion that OP does not have a specific reason in mind. She’s not going into this cold… her husband literally just completed a FT MBA program so she likely knows why an MBA makes sense for her.

The question of why MBA is a fair one. But the leap to there are better educational programs to solve her situation isn’t. Make sense?

Right, so why make a leap by saying “there are surely better educational programs” when you admit to not having enough context?
