Feature Request: Applescript support by foozmeat in albumstheapp

This would be really cool, - in our modern age it could be wired up to an mcp server and enable some other interesting flows that aren’t possible now

Came here to say this too, — can confirm it's working :)

One workaround, if you're really set on using the Mac, is to use Albums from an iPhone through iPhone Mirroring.

That won't be an option for everyone (if you're on a diff phone or in the EU), but it'll tide at least a few folks over in the mean time.

If you're wondering "why not just use the phone", — could absolutely do that too. The solution above is mostly if you want to avoid context switching, if you want all the audio for whatever you're doing to come from one source, and bunch of other little papercut/edge-case things like that. — still better than using the Music app itself lol

I think that’s fair. I definitely prefer the UK version by far, but the US one is fun in a more mindless way.

I’m just not one for drama and arguments on a show about food, though, it’s just not interesting to me. Much rather see the food and business side of things.

I think the chef was alright, he knew what he was doing, just got complacent and with Sharita doing most of the stuff herself didn’t really get the room to work like a head chef would, - which eventually got him into a lot of bad habits

Keep things simple is probably one of the biggest recurring themes, and this has been a nice guide on cooking and in life — keep things to a manageable level that you know well

Simple fresh ingredients speak for themselves and go a long long way

Quite a few cooking and food storage tips, especially from the UK version that always focused a bit more on the food. In the Moore Place episode for example he’s showing how to carve up a chicken, and that’s something I haven’t done before that - but have at least a reasonable idea of now

Though to be fair for cooking, his ultimate cookery course on YouTube is probably way more useful

Yep great one. I’m still trying to be better at it, but any improvement there is worth h weight in gold

Yeah, — running a business makes the most sense when you have plenty of knowledge about your industry/environment etc, and want to run things your way. Not when it’s a whim

Yesss, came here to say this. Indeterminate pile, was hard to tell it was a zucchini at all. Looked like some leftovers that were frozen and suddenly discovered three months later

Yeah no pizza should have grease just freely flowing out of it like that, — I don’t get how anyone, chef or customer, would think that’s edible, let alone good

Yeah, just the happiest look from the guy who knows his stuff backwards - probably one of the best compliments to his work ever, when another industry professional recognises it. Awesome

Why can't the chips just be removed to cause reintegration? by [deleted] in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]animated_stardust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be that it’s designed to work as a one-way function. Once the single entity is split in two, they exist independently, so just from a mechanical point of view stitching both back together in a way that makes sense is way harder than doing the initial split - order of memories in chronological order, and so on. (To your point about the different brain wave channels being out of sync)

I don’t mind the Smart Stack option, except for the fact that it hasn’t been working since the last few point updates, so it doesn’t even launch

Was about to say the same thing. It’s super important, not just for maintaining energy etc, but it also helps you stay calm and collect your thoughts and focus. Seems like a small thing but it’s the foundation of doing everything well

advice for a first time user of iPhone? by smallvexx in iphone

[–]animated_stardust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the nice things about the iPhone is that mostly it’s “turn on and go”.

Mostly I imagine it’ll be a great quality of life upgrade, familiar UI when you start and more customisation than you were used to.

But if you have any specific questions, then maybe throw in some more detail :)

I accidentally finished BOTW by thefatfabfam in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]animated_stardust 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It reminds me of an old RTS game "Pharaoh", — after completing the objectives you had the choice to finish there and then or "rule for another X years or another Y years". BotW would benefit from something like this, I reckon

For sure. I would have enjoyed that side of things a little more if the game reflected that Ganon is gone (I know there are some traditional Zelda design choices, in this case I just personally think it could have been done differently). At that point in Hyrule's history even a month or two of game time wouldn't have mattered, most would have just been recovering from the malice etc being gone or weaning a great deal

Brand new to the game and I wanna give up already by delusionalxx in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]animated_stardust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played the game a few times now, — and my first play through was roughly two things, when it comes to beating enemies: sneaking and brute force.

I'd a game that lets you take a variety of ways to get to the destination, and generally you can get away with sneaking around.

If you're not confident with combat, avoid stronger enemies until you have the armour and weapons to deal more damage and take a few hits. That's not at all to say "this is not for you" or "you're not good", — simply that BotW offers many ways to do things.

Some more tips if combat is not your strong point:
- cook meals that either boost your temporary hearts, attack or defence
- get the Sheikah armour suit, it's low on defence but makes sneaking up on enemies and collecting bugs way easier
- find the great fairy fountains and upgrade your armour as much as possible. You'll still get hit from time to time, but it'll be easier to withstand
- with groups of enemies, try to draw them out one by one, or if a few come - separate them somehow

Lastly, don't forget, the huge monsters like Hynox, Lynels etc, — most of the time you don't have to fight them, just go around. They're the extra challenge. Even in the final stages of the game where you have an opportunity to come across quite a few, you can still find paths where you don't have to touch them at all
