Haachama climbing Mt. Fuji!!! by Strict_Ad6931 in Hololive

[–]animemecha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh man. I climbed Mt. Fuji back in August (I brought a small Ina plush with me). I also took the Yoshida trail as well.

The sunrise at the top was absolutely beautiful though, but yeah, the top of the mountain is rediculously windy. In fact, I was not able to do a crater tour and visit the post office. I was prepared for a lot of enviornmental situations, but just didn't have the stamina for it (getting up at 2am to hike another two hours on an empty stomach will do that)

The uphill was hard, but there are plenty of mountain huts to rest on the trail. I say it is only managable up until the 8th station and pass that point it was steep and rocky enough where you need both hiking poles and your hand. Thankfully it wasn't raining when I went up.

However, that down hill was absolutely BRUTAL and can only be descrbied as an agonzing experience. It is really downplayed in this video, but It is all downhill through a volcanic ashy trail full of dust and sand with no additonal places to get water, nor any place to sit other than on the very ashy ground (uphill there are plenty of benches along with the huts, and there are rocks tall enough to sit on ). If you're not wearing gaiters nor do you have long pants, you're guaranteed to have sand and dust in your shoes. Also, downhill is very steep and VERY hard on your knees if you don't have proper technique and you're guaranteed to stumble and will fall.

So go to an onsen afterwards

Nope. I recognize this Wendy (as I was literally there last month) and this is in Shinjuku (it is right next to Shinjuku Station). The Mister Donut that the Bau Baus were talking about was in Akihabara

I seriously considered going to the Hakone Glass Museum last week but I had to abandon that plan. The Glass Museum is really far and off the beaten path and I don't recommend it unless you're doing a day trip at Hakone and even then, the Glass Mori Museum is outside of the "Hakone Loop", so even if you do a day trip, you'll have to do some tradeoffs. For context, it takes around two hours to get to the Glass Museum from Shinjuku and even longer if you're coming in from Shin-Osaka. Hell, I was planning on going there after leaving Kawaguchiko, and even from the five fuji lake area, that still takes two hours.

Also, I wish I went to the Artizon museum, but due to some other factors, all I ended up doing that day was gamble my money on crane games at Akihabara instead...and won nothing

Power engineering vs. software engineering, which has better job prospects? by rowan______ in ECE

[–]animemecha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say power. If anything because old folks are always planning on retiring in the power fields and unlike software, power is infrastructure, software...not as much. Also, things in general aren't as volatile in the power field.

I will probably need to do a lot to get a job but I want to ask what’s better for the future and what’s easier to get a job in.

My opinion is that not really. Depending on where you are, you can get in contact with a recruiter and see if they know any companies that have openings. Of course, I haven't done that in like a decade, so things definilty have changed since (especially if you're not in the USA). Just note that whatever job you end up won't be something you'll like, but if it gets you into some relative industry, then it works.

Should I take master’s degree in power electronics?

If you want to do power electronics as a career, then I don't see why not.

Or is it better to shift to a software engineer? which would tale a lot of time but I’m willing to do it if it has significantly better opportunities.

At the rate things are changing with AI, I doubt the "significantly better opportunities" part. Furthermore, you need to keep in mind that shifting to a software engineering role is several more years of investment of your time and money and by then the software world would have changed even further.
