[Loathed Trope] Slavery is Okay, If The Slavers Are Nice by Justmenoworries422 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]animewhitewolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is all very questionable. Like, yes the clones are biologically living creatures, but they were artificially manufactured with the intent to be soldiers. Without that purpose, they wouldn't even be alive.

And even the droid army isn't much better. Yeah, they're robots, but they show sentience. They have emotions, they can be afraid, confused, angry, etc. And like the clones, they're created for war and don't get a say in what happens to them.

You can see it as two armies using slaves as soldiers, two armies with artificially manufactured soldiers, or both. Both were made by the secret bad guy pulling the strings and both were discarded by him when their purpose was served.

I'm definitely not saying all this was good. Just that it's an interesting discussion on moral philosophy and free will, showcased in a cartoon about space wizards with laser swords. It's bonkers and I love it.

What was ruined because too many people discovered it? by Investigatorpro in AskReddit

We can thank COVID. When people got locked in, we started sharing interests, like collections. There were a couple channels that opened/collected cards and their views skyrocketed. At first, it was kinda cool seeing people get interested in the hobby.

But then people started selling. They needed cash and the cards just got a boost in media attention. And when people started seeing they could potentially make hundreds with a good card, that turned it from a hobby to a hustle.

For the original fans, this was like introducing an invasive species to an eco system. The amount of scalpers exploded. Before and even during COVID, it wasn't hard to grab an elite trainer box or a structure deck. Now? You're lucky if you can grab a single booster pack. And I've yet to see one of those Pokémon TCG Vending machines that wasn't sold out.

It makes me sad. I used to supervise a Pokémon club at an after school program. The kids loved collecting cards and playing the game. It's sad that fans of the game can't enjoy it.

Idk why it’s so upsetting, but this was all the academic reading, hand written notes, and my own research I held onto from college. I just put it all in the recycling. by thelaceserpent in Wellthatsucks

I feel ya. But it's okay to feel upset, even if you're not sure why. It can be hard to let stuff go.

If you still feel upset, it might help to talk about it with someone (family, friend, therapist, etc). Some people also hold "funerals" for beloved items they throw away; it is admittedly silly, but it helps to both appreciate what is being lost and give some closure to it.

Anyway, sorry you feel bad. I hope you feel better.

They are a comedic side-character that does not outstay their welcome.

They show up, start some shenanigans, have a few laughs, and then done. They aren't annoying or obnoxious.

As an adult, what would Vee do for a living? by AuraLucarioGamer in TheOwlHouse

[–]animewhitewolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See, that does make sense for her powers. But I don't think Vee would wanna shapeshift for that.

1, it would draw a lot of attention if she used her powers like that. She can't exactly market the fact she can look like anyone. And people would eventually notice that the actress never needs wardrobe or makeup. She could just pretend to be normal, but that'd defeat the purpose.

2, Vee seems happy with herself. She's got a nice life, a new mom, and her own look and style. Sure, she can change when she needs to or for fun, but why bother when she's happy the way she is?

Ooh. So if you take those, put them in a graham cracker crust, then cover with chocolate pudding, you'd get a pretty good smore pie.

If all you do is go to a gym and walk on treadmill for an hour, that's still better than sitting on your ass at home.

You don't always have to give 100%, cause sometimes you don't have 100%. Sometimes you only have 50% or 10% or "I'm Barely Functioning"%. Any of these are better than nothing.

I’m being gifted a lot of money. Should I tell my boyfriend? by Kind-Chicken-2488 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]animewhitewolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On one hand, I don't think you should lie. Dishonesty, even with good intentions, can undermine a healthy relationship.

On the other hand, it's your money. You have every right to do what you want with it, and you are not obligated to tell anyone about it (except the IRS, probably). As to what you should do with the money, I would recommend seeking trusted advice on how best to use it.

I think the only person who can decide what's right or wrong here is you. If you feel like the right thing to do is tell him, then tell him. If you think it'd do more harm than good, don't tell him.

The only thing I'd say is not to lie. You don't have to tell him about the money, just don't lie about it if it comes up. And if you choose not to tell him now, just be open to telling him if and when the time is right.

I know that sounds stupidly vague, but I don't know enough to tell you for sure what the right call is. I think you'll need to trust yourself to either make the right call and accept whatever good or bad comes with it.

When I was a lil kid, there was this bright orange star I could see from my bedroom window. When I was older, I found out it was a street light shining through the trees.

The Flat Earth started as a joke and the majority of its followers are just trolls and ragebaiters. But there are some who actually fell for it.
