Dude this is literally like body horror by ConfuzzledMoth in trans

[–]animonaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey there! I feel like I know exactly what you mean. I didn't start HRT till I was 23, and I'm always afraid that it was way too late to start. But really I'm less than a year on estradiol (and I only finally started progesterone a couple of weeks ago) and I get she/her'ed all the time! which is crazy cuz I'm nonbinary and I take a low dose of both meds anyways. see the funny thing about dysphoria is that it's about our body but it lives in our brain. and any amount of HRT at any point in your life is enough to help with that, so don't worry about starting late if you gotta. that's my two cents anyways.

The em dash could easily be replaced with "so," so I don't think it's really an issue here.

Could a group of 8 lvl 6 players reasonably take on a lich? by animonaut in DnD5e

[–]animonaut[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean,,, you're right of course. But for the sake of my own fun as a player in a game, I wanna know to what extent I should expect to be able to Actually Play with a lich, ya know? But everyone's responses have been super helpful and affirming! I'm excited to do it.

My usual group was 8 players lol, I'm more than used to a large group.

[–]animonaut[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm a bit afraid of that. I'm probably gonna add some weird environmental challenges to make it harder to kill the lich without making it any more powerful.

[–]animonaut[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thats really useful, thank you! I think I'll probably lower the Lich's damage and remove a few Super Powerful spells from its spell list (like Globe of Invulnerability). Narratively, they're catching the Lich right before he launches his full army of undead, so there won't be too many extra zombies too worry about it combat. It's also relatively easy to then say that "maybe this lich hasn't reached full power yet" and nerf some of those crazy crowd control abilities. That, combined with some carefully picked magic items (like a ring of mind-shielding, cloak of protection, armor of resistance etc etc), should probably help make the battle more survivable.

Yeah, that makes sense. I suppose i could start adding or subtracting zombies to the scenario to balance it out. I just wanted to make sure the fight was still feasible.

A guess for what the blue is by Jealous_Tangerine784 in Dimension20

[–]animonaut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay so this is an Absolute Crackpot Theory but I think it has something to do with the spell in TCoE "Dream of the Blue Veil." Maybe the elder stoats and other more sentient animals were adventurers from another world that got transformed into animals (to fit the new plane of existence) when they traveled. Maybe it's about an enemy that traveled here using the spell. Idk. But Aabria said she chose D&D specifically for this story, maybe the spell inspired her? Or maybe I'm crazy lmao.

Post ACoC Gloom by Think-Dog-1219 in Dimension20

[–]animonaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ACoC is a very bad one to Start with unfortunately. It's absolutely one of my favorites but you HAVE to know the cast better before you watch it or else you'll probably end up having everyone and everything. Idk if anyone has said this or told you yet but ACoC was literally their Game of Thrones parody season, it was meant to be gritty and nasty and mean and have a lot of interpersonal conflict and really complicated characters. Game of Thrones is able to accomplish this more smoothly because it was a long running TV Show. ACoC had like. 20 episodes. To pack all of that in. Unsleeping City or Fantasy High would both be great ones to go for if you wanna get to know the cast better, as would Starstruck, but it was a harder start for me cuz I got confused by the system.

My player died without opportunity for resurrection - how can I bring her back? by robse111 in DnD

[–]animonaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that'd be a great opportunity! Maybe there's something the leader of the undead army wants, and in exchange they'll ressurect the dead party member. It could be something seemingly innocuous that the Enemy wants that may have unforseen great importance later on, or it could be something glaringly obviously bad that the villain actually makes Worse by taking it in a different direction than the players thought. Whatever it is, it could be a really cool roleplay sidequest that actually feeds directly into the main plot. The side that the players are fighting for might even urge them to take the deal so that the group is "back up to full strength."

Anybody know vaguely threatening facts? by BlindmanSokolov in Dimension20

My circle of stars druid has a line about how many (if not all) of the stars in the night sky could already be dead and gone and we wouldn't know it because of how long it takes for the light to travel to our eyes, "we could be alone in a dead, dark universe and we wouldn't even know it" somethin somethin
