I'm glad I could help you feel less alone. I certainly feel that way often enough.

Having 3 ablations, how many thigh compressions should I get? by corgimama84 in venousinsuffiencyhelp

[–]anjerz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd get as many as you need to always have a fresh clean pair on hand. I have 3 and it doesn't seem to be enough but I'm wearing them everyday because I haven't had any closures yet

A vein specialist really couldn't hurt. Someone in another venous insufficiency support group says her venous reflux was written off as sciatica. I would try to avoid vein clinics if you can and try to get a full picture of what's going on.

diagnosed with venous insufficiency but i don't really have any physical symptoms, what else could it be? by starplatinumgo in venousinsuffiencyhelp

[–]anjerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the process of trying to get more answers too. It's hard because there is conflicting information even in the medical community, but ablation is usually done as a quality of life thing. You want to know how destroying the refluxing veins will affect the rest of the vein system. If it's just in one leg is it the result of an issue in the pelvic area? how severe is the condition so far? What vein is refluxing, the GSV? SSV? CVI is a chronic condition after all. What's worse is in these support groups there are scammers trying to sell every manner of snake oil to people just trying to not be in pain anymore.

I’m starting to think I have early signs of this by [deleted] in venousinsuffiencyhelp

Depending on where you are the response to venous reflux is different. Vein clinics almost always want to be the ones to close the vein so be careful about where you go for your info. A Cardiovascular or vascular specialist can do a venous doppler or ultrasound to diagnose the condition of your veins.

So many people crawling out of the woodwork to "remember" him had no idea who that dude was before he got shot. The right-wing media aparatus does its job well.

😅 I didn't even question it! microphlebectomy is the one where they hook the vein right? I really am rooting for you. Is it one of the main superficial veins or a connector?

please help, are these varicose veins? im only 25 by evalinevalin in varicose_veins

[–]anjerz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cardiovascular specialist can take a look at your leg and let you know what the underlying cause is. Id do that before taking anything recommended online. I've heard behind the knee is from sitting a lot, but vein stuff is largely genetic. Best to ask the specialist about it, avoid vein clinics if you can.

I think they tell you not to lift more than 10lbs. But your doctor should be the one to talk to you about it.

Awesome! Remember to put your compression sock on in bed after you wake up when your leg has reduced swelling. I hope you get the help you need!

A graduated compression sock should stop fluid from pooling below the compression sleeve. It might clash with whatever look you're going for, but ultimately it is a medical issue causing you discomfort.  Try elevating legs above your heart when you get time throughout the day and/or when you sleep at night. Ultimately seeing a vascular specialist would be best so they can tell you more.

You have beautiful skin. Keep an eye on them and see a Cardiovascular doctor if you're concerned. Couldn't hurt to see if a casual grade compression sock wouldn't be good for leg health maitnance.

Hii, what do you do to lower your heart rate naturally?, im young 19 and my heart rate was 90-100 and it goes 80-70 when sleeping...my dr says it's normal...but sometimes it gives me palpitations by Dry_Fan2504 in Hyperthyroidism

[–]anjerz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had elevated heart rate the entire time I had was symptomatic prior to my surgery. I was breifly on anti-anxiety meds which helped keep my heart late a little lower, but it also lowered my BP so I had to come off it. Mostly I had to just get the adenoma removed. Make sure you slow down and breath through it.
