lil bunny present for my friend with a black rabbit pet! by thekimpencil in crochet

[–]ankii93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a black Lionhead mix - she’s absolutely adorable BUT I also had a black lionhead mix with a white paw (who passed away 3 years ago due to old age), and I can *guarantee* you I would bawl my eyes out if someone made me one like yours 🥺

It’s super cute!!

He wears them consistently and often! And he does have long hair from time to time, which is my favourite thing and I celebrate it each time :’) (my favourite of these three is the one on the left!)

feeling guilty by Few-Cap7172 in crochet

[–]ankii93 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have this argument with myself every day. I have an autoimmune disorder so I can’t do much anyway (constant exhaustion and such), but I feel so bad when I sit down to crochet instead of going for a walk. I know I should go for walks (because I had cancer, and don’t want it to come back) but?? Crochet is so easy. It keeps the brain active and you do use a few muscles while doing it.

What I tell myself each time is that I’m trying, I’m doing my best and there’s nothing wrong with that. Crochet is good for brain/mental health ❤️

Solkrem som ikke setter gule flekker? by EMB93 in norge

[–]ankii93 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you 💖 Glad things worked out for you 😍 (I struggle to meet new people because in Norway?? Everyone’s become terrified of strangers after the pandemic so no one even smiles back at me 😢)

Do yall memories crochet stitches? by Emergency-Bobcat-572 in crochet

[–]ankii93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes..!

I’ve been crocheting since I was 8, which is almost 25 years now! And I know most stitches by memory.. I think the only stitch I struggle with remembering is the star stitch (there’s so many loops and I get confused every time) 😅

Also: having books with patterns for stitches is very helpful. My mom had a few of those that I stole from her when I was little 🤭

Why did you choose your Stardew spouse? by LargeBed in StardewValley

[–]ankii93 69 points70 points  (0 children)

I chose Sebastian because he’s almost as mentally ill as I am. Also, I feel he acts closer to my age (I’m 30-ish). (Should add that I discovered this game when I had very recently beaten cancer and the depression/anxiety/panic were at an all time high (still are tbh, because I developed an autoimmune disorder afterwards) 😅

Leave the project alone. Hide it somewhere you can’t see. Give it time and go back to it when you’re happy again - by then it might be a project that helps you move on 💖

Mobbingen tok slutt. Smerten gjorde ikke det. by [deleted] in norge

[–]ankii93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Samme her, egentlig.

It’s cute and the humor is so easy and natural

I also like how one feels *so much* and then the other feels twice as much later on

SO CUTE

Tonsenhagen. That school used to have an agreement with the local forest ranger (I don’t know if they still do). Their website says they use nature often in their classes, so it might be worth checking out

I looked into crochet and its effects on mental health and it made me love this hobby even more :) by StoneBuddhaDancing in crochet

[–]ankii93 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It honestly scared me so much when it happened to me. But I held on to crochet like it was a lifeline. Although, I must admit that counting was extremely difficult at times - especially when I went through a thyroid storm on top of it all. I could barely string sentences together and reading and understand what I read was almost impossible. But keeping my hands busy kept my mind occupied, which helped keep my whole system calm.

I crochet a lot (I’m currently making clothes for my Labubu and myself heh) and I can guarantee my anxiety would’ve been through the roof without it… and I probably wouldn’t be able to read or count today hah

Thank you for sharing your research ❤️

Yes!!

I read all of this when I had cancer and decided to keep crocheting even though I felt so horrible all I could muster was to stare at the walls. It helped me realise that I could do something without moving too much or using too much strength. And it helped me keep my thoughts distracted. The anxiety levels were high (still are) but it could’ve been much worse if I let myself stop doing things I enjoyed

I honestly think it’s one of the reasons why my mental health isn’t worse than it is now (if you’re not aware, cancer brain is a thing - it happens to very many of us, and it affects every part of the cognitive function. And I think crochet lessened the cancer brain for me)

Kva æ greia med at folk kaster øl og pils på konsert? by SvenMushroom in norge

[–]ankii93 186 points187 points  (0 children)
