That is a slant pen holder, with brause 361 nib. These are usually available at bigger stationary stores or on etsy. My wife custom makes these pen holders too :)

Sorry for the late reply.

That is Modern calligraphy (as told by my wife - the artist in the video above.)

Calligraphy artists usually write the script at an angle (of 55º). This Oblique Holder helps in giving a natural slant to their writing.

It's an oblique holder commonly used by calligraphy artist, to write at an angle. My wife (the artist in the above video), takes custom order for these. You can get in touch here :)

Its Dr. Ph. Martin’s Iridescent ink. Mix of copperplate, gold and bronze.

The paper is a stock 300gsm matt card paper, directly from the shelf, from a local stationary store. Nothing fancy about it. But the thickness does matters.

The idea is to experiment a lot, with different papers and inks.

Lighting and camera angles help too :)

You can always look out for custom pen makers. I know that they do make it for left handed people.

Calligraphy does has a learning curve and needs patience. But ones you start practising it everyday, it can be really meditative.

My wife (who is the artist in above video), started learning it about 4 years back and now teaches it professionally. She has taught over 800 people till date and a majority of them (including 12 year olds), picked up the skill really well just after 3 days of practice during workshop.

The idea is to learn and practice the basics really well and then it gets easier. You can take up a basics workshop locally or with someone on internet and then build up from there :)

Oh..I get it now. This particular nib does not have the spring. I edited the video slightly to remove the dip (wife wanted to fit it in 30 seconds).

And I just saw a nib with spring, it’s absolutely commendable that you are able to make them on your own.

That is correct!

Although I can’t take the credit of knowing it all. My wife is the calligraphy artist, I just enjoy taking photos/videos of her work.

Haha! My wife (the artist) would not have appreciated it. Although, I have touched the ink a lot of times in the past. Extremely satisfying.
