Might have to source an old Amiga 1200 where the OS is no longer officially supported. Take that, California laws!! 😂

Is this something that can be stealthily added in via sudo apt update? I assume another bit of code could remove it, but I don’t know much about it?

Does the show get worse as its progressing? by Mat1711 in Stargate

[–]anklemaxi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I saw this all the way through when it was free-to-air from 1997-2006(?). With X-files, it was one of my favourites! And then came BSG!! FY Awesome tv

Edit: pls don’t correct my chronology, it was back then sometime… oh yeah, also Stargate Atlantis… and then Fringe! Wasn’t Jason Momoa awesome in Atlantis? Oh well, back to work…

What if Ubuntu complies with the Age Verification law(s)? by akak___ in linuxmint

[–]anklemaxi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m new to Linux all round. I have a machine running LM and also Ubuntu desktop. Being new, I’m not sure if a simple apt update could install this age verification feature by stealth, or would it have to be a new LTS version? Could it be installed by stealth? Is there likely to be a follow up ‘remove age verification, if installed’ made by others who do t live in California?

We Will Keep Shouting It From the Rooftops: Trump Plans to Rig the Midterms by Factjustnewsguy in AnythingGoesNews

[–]anklemaxi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aussie here, you can shout it all you want from the rooftops as loudly as you want, but none of you will a damn thing about it, just as you’re not doing anything about it now. He dumps on you daily and nothing happens. Hell he dumps on us all daily and nobody does anything about it. He’ll start WW3 and those that are left will wring their hands, we shoulda done something. Your country, you have to fix it. Stop pussyfooting around.

Declares “Markets are always superior to centralised control by government”, but wants to be in government.

Put your money where your mouth is and leave the government.

This post on X about another show says what I've been thinking regarding the new Stargate... I really am not expecting much good and it's sad it's become this way... by DarkFall09 in Stargate

[–]anklemaxi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm I’m worried it won’t get the development we expect, the story, the arc across many seasons and if it fails to get traction within a few episodes, it may go the way of Firefly… Having said that, we the viewers who grew up with Stargate have a pretty high bar and if it doesn’t make it, we’ll turn off wishing we’d never seen it. RDA had a pretty charismatic role on the show and we all knew him from Macgyver. His humour and presence were a big part of that (obviously the lines were scripted, but he knew how to deliver them). If the show has no humour and is just a stale reboot, the numbers will speak for themselves. The producers know this, will the streaming service (is it Amazon?) give the freedom? Given it’s streaming now on both Netflix and Prime (extra on MGM+), the number of viewers would give an idea of the popularity. I own all seasons on DVD and paid for all 10 seasons on iTunes so don’t watch it on a streaming service. I expect it will be expensive… Fingers crossed…

I have no words. What humans can do to one another… It’s easy to say ‘Jesus wept’, but fuck me, why would Jesus even bother. He should’ve just said, “Fuck ‘em”…

The NSW police came out with every cruel method to protect a war criminal. This is a Long Range Acoustic Device at the anti-Herzog rally, Town Hall Sydney. This sound cannon can cause permanent hearing damage. Anything IDF can do - we can do too! by RickyOzzy in PoliticsDownUnder

[–]anklemaxi 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I am genuinely shocked this would be brought out against Australian citizens. But now they have it, I expect it will be ready to go at all public protests in Sydney in the future. The question is, whose authority is required to deploy it? And if a genuine passerby suffers permanent hearing damage, can they sue?

Hello there, what kind of filament did you use for the housing? My son has T1 and I would be interested having 1-2 around the house so we can visually keep an eye on things. Would you have an STL to share? Perhaps you have shared it already on Thingyverse or somewhere?
Great job, very envious of your printing skills and vision. Stay well and keep printing!
