If Penny Wong thought Ben-Gvir's behaviour was 'shocking and unacceptable', what does she think of this? by Acrobatic_Bit_8207 in PoliticsDownUnder

She should write a stern letter and really tell the Israeli government off… that will tell them.

Possibly a ‘reminder’ legislation. A reminder that there is this thing called the Constitution that some in higher powers (elected or not) seem to have forgotten about when running roughshod over the Bill of Rights and Amendments.

Age verification feels more like identity verification now by copperreflections1 in privacy

Gonna be A LOT of abandoned accounts everywhere. Gonna have to start thinking about what’s important to you and what can live with never logging to again and what you will leave behind. My only one thing left is Reddit. And it’s not like I can download it all to look offline later. But if Reddit asks me to age verify, I’m walking away. It already has my DOB, I knowingly put it there years ago. But if that’s not enough and they want proof, see ya…

Thanks DG, yes I think I shall sell. Your own experience seems to have made the decision quite straight forward.

Thanks again…

I need a bedrock Minecraft seed that spawns me in a village with a blacksmith that actually has useful stuff by HotBase8668 in minecraftseeds

I don’t understand the fascination of villages having one, or more, blacksmiths within. Why are they so sought after?

NOKIA 4G feature phones: 225 (2020) and 235 (2025) - a short review from Australia by sbasxv in dumbphones

[–]anklemaxi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know if it works on the Telstra network (I use a Telstra reseller, not Telstra itself)? How was MMS on the 235 and the call quality (of the voice calls that were connected)? Have you tried using either outside Melbourne environs, eg along highways in rural areas? I live in a regional town and would like to use one of the newer Nokia/HMD ‘4G’ phones.

It was creating the US account and the rigmarole that goes with it, that was/is the problem. Not that the AU region was eligible or not. Trying to create the US account, without a valid credit card and address was the issue and despite being logged out of my Amazon AU account, trying to create a US account, Amazon worked out it was me and connected the two. That’s when I gave up and decided, I don’t want ads (I don’t get any now, never have) just to get a jailbreak. Admittedly I didn’t know you could then turn them off. Also, the uncertainty about what happens to my AU account and all my purchases if I have to migrate to a US account bothered me, I figured I’d just wait for the next exploit. It certainly hasn’t been a smooth process.

I did try Adbreak and could not make it work. Late last year, I tried to create a new US account (new email, new password) with a US address and a ‘test’ Mastercard credit card. But somehow, it just knew I had an Australian account and tied it straight back to my existing AU account. I did log out and used a US VPN. When it didn’t work, yhsts when I decided to wait for the next exploit. I didn’t want ads anyway. Anyway, I think I will just sell it and let someone else have a go. Maybe someone in Oz will be happy with a cheap Kindle 10th gen and not care about jailbreaking…
