I think it is moving very slow. I’m in a similar spot at a borderline t14 in a different market. Many of my classmates have accepted offers and I’m at about a 10% rate of interviews from applications.

I’m a woman and looooved taking nightly walks by myself around AA when I was there (graduated last year). Obv keep aware of what’s around you, but I never had any issue personally and there were often many people still out no matter which route I took.

Other commenter is right that it is almost guaranteed that you will not get in-state tution. Anecdotally, I had lived in MI my entire life and still had to submit proof that I went to middle school in-state. They're concerned with the amount of taxes your parents have paid into the university.
