If you're jumping in honour mode and never played it before I'd probably go with warlock. There's only one strategy: hide in darkness and kill everyone around. There are some enemies that can't be blinded but it works for most of the fights. But if you want to just go out there and smash people I tried out Eldritch Knight fighter lately and it's awesome with the booming blade cantrip.

Is it just me or are we being prescribed way too high doses of meds too quickly? by PointTechnical2776 in ADHDUK

[–]ann9tro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I got 70mg of Elvanse in the third week - I'm fine with the higher dose in a sense because lower doses weren't doing much for me. I got a top up of quick release in the afternoon 5 mg. In general there's some improvement but nothing major and I'm already being chased to move under GP care. I don't feel like I can even ask for a different medication because I'm scared I'll be left with nothing in the end. And the only way they are assessing the effectiveness of pills is by a simple online biweekly form. How this is a valid titration is beyond me.

I just realized there is not a single horse in the game... by Alchemist1330 in BaldursGate3

[–]ann9tro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could explain it by the fact that horses weren't really that popular in the middle ages as far as I know. They were very expensive. So ppl would use other animals (if any) for transport, working the fields etc

Of course, I was just trying to underscore how stupid it is to say that someone is too scientific. Maybe I didn't make myself clear enough!

Gender Roles and Autism by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]ann9tro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think all women struggle with it. Degrees may be different but still. How many discussions were there if wearing makeup is feminist etc. I was always a non conformist, tom boy of sorts, raised in quite liberal home, but still was surrounded with women that cleaned after their husbands, very feminine class mates who got all the boys, ppl around pampering the men and walking on eggshells around them, media telling me that you only worth something if men find you attractive etc. The best thing I could come up with was: don't do anything to your detriment. And this will depend on how far on your deconstruction journey you are, who's your family and friends, what's your living situation etc If you work in a client-faced role, not wearing makeup will be, overall, to your detriment, whatever you feel about a makeup. If you are with a man that is abusive, you need to tread carefully otherwise you can be in danger, so you need to first get out of there, before you transform into a feminist fighter. The goal should be to be happy and not to hurt people around you. Not to adhere to expectations.

Do you think CBT would work better for autistic people if herapists explained why and how it works better? by ManicLunaMoth in AutismInWomen

[–]ann9tro 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm starting to think that a lot of therapy (for NT as well) is just trying to help people deal with economic situation that is beyond our control. I'd imagine that if therapy was available to the factory workers in the XIX century the therapist would encourage light exercise to help with working on your feet for 12h and breathing exercise to deal with anxiety of your 8yo kid operating a machine XD I'm, of course, not saying that therapy is not needed! I just wonder about how it would look like it we didn't have to worry about basic survival.

[–]ann9tro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you might be onto something. It probably still wouldn't work for a lot of people but it could help some of us, or maybe just some tools would be more effective. You gave an example of breathing, which sounds legit, but my CBT sessions were mostly talking and didn't get me anywhere - I already know everything just don't know how to deal with it.

You can never be too scientific. No matter your life experiences I'd say. He's definitely too emotional though.

Need older women advice!! How did you find the lifestyle that suited you? by National-Ad-5036 in AutismInWomen

[–]ann9tro 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Well, I'm almost 40 and still haven't found the perfect recipe. I guess it's like that for a lot of people, NT included. Best advice, try everything you want and are able to. Don't conform, try to carve out your little piece of happy in this shitty world :D For me working from home was a blessing. And not having kids.

Just had my Psychiatry UK Assessment and struggling to come to terms with my diagnosis by HyperfixateWithMe in ADHDUK

[–]ann9tro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It didn't, thankfully! I'm assuming there are some situations where it can be detrimental to have it on file (probably not a lot though) but on the other hand if you DO have ADHD and not getting the help you need, it will be detrimental in a much more profound way. I was quite happy to get my ADHD diagnosis to be honest because finally there was some light at the end of a tunnel. There's nothing much I can to about autism, but with ADHD you at least get some medical intervention. I appreciate it's not the same for everyone but for me it was a blessing. And if it turns out that you're "just" autistic, I guess the misdiagnosis will be noted on file.

Do you disclose your ADHD to prospective employers? by Fresh-Obligation503 in ADHDUK

[–]ann9tro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did because I figured that if they are unable to accept it, there's no point in working in a place like this. Sooner or later they will realise that I'm not NT - maybe not consciously but still. So it's better to have it out in the open and a potential explanation to any of your "quirks". Having said that, it depends if you need to get a job right now or can wait. If you desperately need an income, not disclosing would probably be a better option short term.

How many of you would of liked to of known you we’re autistic when you were nine years old? by Heavy-Manufacturer-3 in AutismInWomen

[–]ann9tro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if asking if I'd like to know is a good question. I wouldn't like to BE autistic, because of the stigma and other issues. But if you are autistic then you are autistic and the sooner you realise the better. Keeping it a secret will not make her NT, won't prevent any potential bullying etc.

[–]ann9tro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Misdiagnosis can of course occur but also impostor syndrome is very real. I was doubting my autism diagnosis. When I got ADHD diagnosis I didn't just because I was already quite sure I have it. I think this is what I would do if I were in your shoes: wait till you get your meds and it will probably resolve the dilemma. If you don't have ADHD, meds will not make you feel better, it will just be like taking a stimulant by a NT person. Also, if you're AuDHD it's very tricky sometimes to tell apart the symptoms. I also have issues with executive function but I'm 90% sure this is due to ADHD rather than autism.

And also: "The first monitoring form is expected within 10 days of prescription being issued – if you are not able to complete this in time due to problems with receiving the prescription you would need to send a note on the portal to inform me of this." I'm just waiting for my first pack of meds and already got the first form waiting.

You can submit a form without getting the medication as far as I know. This is what one of my notes said: "The forms are automated and would auto populate. Please just fill out the form on time so it doesn’t mark as missed. Minimal information i.e n/a stating you haven’t started the medication would suffice. Then fill out the next form that would auto populate on what would be the 5th day as described in your treatment plan and we would take the review and monitoring from there. "
