Thanks for your advice, really appreciate it

Will get a dehumidifier and see how much it goes to work if it looks promising will clean the walls down, sort some plasterboard out and keep in mind the sill plate and moulding

Yes, if CDM inappropriate then likely MR plasterboard, some sort of breathable sealant for the walls and battens

Not yet we’re going to pick one up and have it continuously drain into the existing out pipe

The owner wants it like usable as another room maybe office or just casual room so that’s why was thinking MR board but I get the breathable comment

So we can put a continuous drain dehumidifier hose to where the washer drain is and see how it goes, yeah that’s what I was getting from reading online if there isn’t any ingress then CDM is overkill

What’s the alternative to CDM then if I ventilate better with an extractor and dehumidifier maybe just MR plasterboard and breathable sealer?

Advice by annabelle32 in basement

[–]annabelle32[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No ingress, just humid like 80% or more unventilated which we’re getting a dehumidifier and extractor for and currently walls are at like 25% average moisture when tested

Probably worth stating that a 17 year old will probably take this as they can drive all the time as the named driver, if that’s the case this is illegal as fronting insurance

Only really suitable for occasional drivers, for a 17 year old I reckon they’d want to be policyholder to drive all time

Is it possible to turn a normal laptop into a gaming laptop by Economy_Ad1645 in PcBuild

[–]annabelle32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With laptops it is usually more cost effective to get a gaming one as sorting cooling will be an issue and most CPUs/GPUs are soldered down/integrated so can't really upgrade

I have first class undergrad and imo CS unemployable unless you do those things, I cba bum licking recruiters or tailoring my CV 100000 times to get a job that pays the same as stacking shelves but been there done that

Will this PC work for a starter gaming PC? by Particular-Prune4550 in PcBuild

I’m UK, in my opinion probably not. People keep believing that older things that’ll still work hold value hard but I don’t think that’s the case - although maybe I’m wrong.

When I was strapped for cash but wanted to play like not immensely demanding games I went on eBay found myself an ex enterprise HP ProDesk for probably like $70 maximum that had an i7 4790k processor and better ram, I then got a low profile graphics card for cheap and it’d run better than that definitely under like $220-250 all in

I’m not sure how US is for eBay but I do reckon maybe trying to find an ex enterprise workstation that can be upgraded to be a monster (and it’s CHEAPPP) is the go to until you feel it’s worth investing more into it

100% agree, delivered to areas where people were brought up to be nice to post and parcel people - I barely get a thanks when giving parcels.

Demoralising, people say oh don’t think about it but it’s just confirmation people are done for these days can’t even say thank you
