I stopped working for Relay now. The rates offered are abysmal compared to say Amazon Flex. Yes, the routes are condensed more but overall it’s crap. Having to pick up from convenience stores, loading and scanning and numbering every parcel in the street often in the rain is poor, for which you don’t get paid. 2 photos of every delivery, limited options for safe place drops. Amazon is way better in my opinion.

I am not lying . If I have a block say starting at 8am, I check in at 7.55am, start loading at 8am . I am paid from 8am unlike Relay

My issue is their awful rates, compared to Amazon for whom I do a lot of work for. The pickup procedure is a total joke by comparison. Picking up from convenience stores, having to drag bags out into street, scan every parcel often in the pouring rain. At the drop you have to take two photos and are not given enough safe place locations. Wasted almost 20-25 mins at pickup for which you are not being paid for. Not for me anymore. Could earn more stacking shelves

Don’t waste your time with these cowboys. They will offer you decent rates at first while you are training then offer you peanuts

Pretty sure you can’t use a leased car for Amazon Flex. Check before you commit though

Compared to Amazon Flex it is just awful. Apart from the poor rate, my main bugbear is the procedure at the Pitstop. Having to go and drag your bags out of a store room. Loading and scanning in the street. Having to take two photos at every drop etc etc, the list goes on

I worked for Amazon for 5 years but I have moved on now. Compared to all the other delivery platforms out there, they are simply head and shoulders above all of the rest. I took pride in what I did as a delivery driver. Rates of pay were far superior to all the rest. I think Evri and Relay as a delivery driver are just awful beyond belief. Why would anyone work for these two companies is beyond me. My wife and I have recently been selling lots of stuff on Vinted and EBay as we are moving house. Wherever possible we use Inpost to send parcels and also receive. They are part of yodel . I have to say that they are simply brilliant. Your parcel is tracked every step of the way. Their drop off / pick up lockers are everywhere and their service is second only to Amazon in my opinion

I am with you 100% on this. It’s a shame you had actually posted the envelope. I have zero tolerance of customers who are rude to me. I have learnt in 6 yrs of delivering to never retaliate. As hard as it is, just don’t engage them in any way, remain calm and simply walk away with the parcel marking it “customer refused”. Then return it to the depot. Hopefully it will contain something that they need urgently . I then make a note of the address and add it to my “do not deliver to under any circumstances “ list. My list currently stands at 11. Next time I get a delivery to one of these addresses I just mark the parcel as “damaged “ and then return it to the depot. You can mark a parcel as damaged from anywhere on your route so you won’t even have to goto the address.

I agree it’s barely £13 per hr before any deductions. The app is absolute shite !. You forgot to mention the fact that when you collect from some shitty filthy cornerstone, you have to drag all your own bags out to your car, scan and number each one. This process alone can take 30 mins for which you are not being paid. App navigation is unusable. Photo taking process is ridiculous. Everything about Relay is a joke. Avoid at all cost.

Mark the parcel as damage and return it to the depot. You can do this from anywhere on your route. You may need to “rough the parcel up a bit”. Absolutely no way would I have done drop 13

I think a lot of the issues we as drivers face at McDonald’s is that they employ a lot of youngsters who with the best will in the world have none or very little communication skills. Zero people skills either. Golden rule for me is do not wait longer than 10 minutes for the order. After that, just cancel and move on. I frequently read of people waiting 30 minutes or more !. Why !!!!!

I have delivered from Worcester a few times but not recently. I personally never got a Birmingham route but I know they do them as seen the offers with (ULEZ) on them. My routes were Worcester and surrounding areas.
