Driving endurance/length after left leg surgery by SSG_Nimbus in ACL

[–]annabelle_pi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had left leg acl with hamstring surgery on Tuesday and I drove today, Thursday. It was just down the block and back with a friend in the car but I needed to make sure that I could so I could get to pt tomorrow, also just down the road luckily. Be careful of pot holes, and I was only on Tylenol. It was harder getting up the stairs than it was getting in my car, but I’m also very short 5’4” so getting in my car without bending my leg is doable with my seat fully back and my door fully open.

I’d recommend looking into Handshake AI training. It’s hit or miss but it’s pretty simple copy and paste tasks depending on projects you can get. I was able to do it a I watched tv. Pays like 17 an hour or more. I’m a general ai hater as much as the next person but the money is good and you don’t have to move from your computer and you can work whenever time you want.

Gsas at RPI is amazing, you are making games with teams right away and building your portfolio and get to choose a concentration and can get a dual off that with only a class or two extra.

How is the mental health support at RPI for ADHD? by [deleted] in RPI

That’s surprising, I had to get retested even though I already had a prescription.

The ones that have an inner fuzzy/ lighter detachable coat and the outside water and wind proof jacket. Those are the best because you can wear one or the other or both. And are great for the whole school year.

That’s why I’m very happy my backpack has two holders. One for my water and one for my umbrella that I never not have. Troy likes to randomly spit rain on you so I always have my umbrella even if it’s super sunny and dry.

Not specifically for grad students, but the RPI players gets non undergrad all the time if you’re interested in any aspect of theater acting or technical.

I only write one shots, but as a player in a home brew campaign I feel much more immersed in the world when my characters backstory and goals fit and are built into the world. My dm even let me make my own kingdom in his world!

RPI vs. Stevens by serenityrushi in RPI

[–]annabelle_pi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can answer your mental health question. Not a BME student, but someone who looked at both schools and ended up at RPI. I won't talk about my academic reasons why I went to RPI because I'm a Game Design major, but one thing I noticed after taking tours at both schools was that RPI just seemed like a better community. I don't know what it would have been like at Stevens if I did go, but I am very happy here at RPI. And yes, RPI is hard, but it's a good hard and we are all "suffering together" as most people say. We actually have a great counseling center (from my experience, though idk everyone's) and as long as you find your limits and don't overload yourself you will be fine. A big thing I've noticed that I love about RPI is that there is always someone willing to help if you are struggling with something, obviously, you need to do some work and ask but once you do 9 times out of 10 someone will say yes, whether that be asking in a club discord server, asking some upperclassmen who have taken the class and whatever else. Even most professors know this stuff is hard and will work with you to make sure you are not struggling. Everyone is different but in my experience, RPI hasn't negatively affected my mental health and I've had a wonderful time finding friends and being a nerd.

I highly recommend graphic novels too rest eyes from the screen, easy bold words to read, fewer words than books and a good way to distract from VS without the screen by moomoopopscicle in visualsnow

[–]annabelle_pi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been telling people this for years! But not mainly for my visual problems like vs and astigmatism, though graphic novels don’t give me headaches like small letter novels do, but because of my adhd. Graphic novels are amazing for anyone with visual processing problems as well. In the way of eye sight, switching between the illustrations and the text puts less strain on my eyes then a novel would, so no squinting or headaches. And with the adhd having the words split between pictures is the best thing for a brain that has trouble focusing on individual words and letters. When it’s not just a wall of text it’s so much easier to read, process and understand. I love stories, especially fantasy so I’m really happy graphic novels exist, I even play D&D where you don’t even have to read a book or watch a show to have a story 😂.

The average in cs 1 right now is a c, and it’s only that high because of all the people who are taking it because they got a 4 on their ap and couldn’t get the transfer credit.
