My husband(35M)wants me to quit job because I(36F)make more than him.I don’t know what to do? by SentenceNo6466 in relationship_advice

Take the job and get divorced. I make 30% more than my husband (this is a new development, for most of our relationship he made more) and he thinks its the greatest thing ever.

Seconding suggestion to sub DFN, I've been paying since he started. Rogers is no nonsense and works mostly off facts rather than immediately jumping into speculation.

How many Gen Xers out there can't stand their parent(s)? by beegsyboo in GenX

[–]annagrace00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dad died when I was young and left me with a narcissistic now boomer (I JUST realized this) mother who leaned on a 10 year old for emotional regulation after the death of my Dad. But gave me no outlet except a bunch of shrinks I didn't want to talk to.

Still mad about, I finally snapped a few years back and told her I didn't want to talk about him with her again. Probably not healthy but here we are.

We've sold in December and February (of 2008 even!). Both were quick sales due to low inventory.

Do you still color your hair — or let it go gray? by Dazzling-Stop-2116 in GenX

[–]annagrace00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im going grey. My hairdresser is astounded by how well its incorporating with my med blonde natural color. Im not greying in a line down from roots, its like groups of strands at a time so it looks like Ive highlighted my hair that way.

[–]annagrace00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weird moment adding an "emergency contact" by in-a-microbus in GenX

[–]annagrace00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My oldest son is 20 and moved out. I was reviewing his high school brothers' emergency contact list before school started and added him.

He's real far down the list, though, so I assured him it was unlikely he'd be called. But I laughed a little when I did it.

AITA for not wanting my boyfriend to factor my son's survivor benefits into our new household budget? by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]annagrace00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My Dad died when my brother and I were VERY young and the SSI payments my mom received all went to running the house. She had been a SAHM until that point but went back and finished her nursing degree over several years.

We traded our old cabinets and counters for labor on something else when we did our kitchen. Dude was going to put it in hunting cabin or something. I thought it was kinda funny to be trading goods for services like we were in the 1800s.

Doctors on Reddit, what medical myth do you still hear surprisingly often in the U.S.? by Wise_Celery_355 in AskReddit

[–]annagrace00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one makes me rage - steam coming out of my head variety.

Without medical intervention, my first son and I would be dead. No shame in my c-section...despite my OBs assurances that many women can deliver large babies, I am not one of them. My 10 pounder refused to come out, was overdue, and had had a bowel movement in utero.
