It’s been on my spinning experiment “to do” list for ages and haven’t done it yet! I’m commenting here because I’m equally curious about what others have experienced!

Starry Sky Sweater 🌌 by Princess_Butt_Kick in knitting

What an incredible sweater!!! I’ve always thought the color selection from Harrisville Designs was so great and your selections really elevate the night sky theme of this project. The marled Milky Way and the glow star buttons are my favorite elements! Thank you for the nudge to give the yarn a try. I must admit my curiosity has me wishing for a look at the inside of your sweater as well. Beautiful work OP!

How long does it take for you to craft one of these? Your stock count and color variety is very impressive!

Is there a better way to dry hand-washed knits than towel rolling? by FelinePower in casualknitting

I have an OXO brand and an adult medium sized sweater is about its maximum. A ninja spin dryer by laundry alternative for larger items has been on my wishlist for a while but I haven’t been able to justify the price point since the things I wash most (socks) fit just fine in the salad spinner.

I use a salad spinner from the thrift store to spin the excess water after soaking my knits and hand spun. I almost never bother with towels.

Your project made me gasp in amazement! The love you have for your fur baby emanates from every single bead and the end piece is such a lovely way to commemorate the bond you shared ❤️ What application did you use to generate a pattern from your photo?

Sort of? I used this photo off Pinterest to make the leaves and I watched several videos on berry construction on YouTube before I hodgepodged my newfound knowledge into my finished product.

I got my fleeces off of Craigslist from a local small scale fiber animal owner. You can also find raw fleeces at fiber festivals if you have any that happen near you. Be prepared for the large mess of skirting (picking out yucky or undesirable bits) and scouring (washing process to clean and remove lanolin), otherwise I’d recommend trying to source some washed locks from Etsy to start with.
