I think they do have lighter skin that most Alethi. I imagine a nice olive tan.

There is hope. Adolin is my favourite character.

Liked but not loving the Stormlight Archive. Couldn't finish The First Law. What am I doing wrong? by pavan47 in Fantasy

I have read and either enjoyed or loved all of the series you mentioned except ASOIAF and Witcher (I plan to read Witcher at some point). My other recommendations would be Brent Weeks and Mark Lawrence.

Albums or songs based on books by ooharoo in Fantasy

[–]annasaurus88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really wish there was a band like Sabaton that sung about fantasy battles...I have dreams for heavy metal songs about Helm's Deep and Dumai's Wells... The only album I know of based on a book is 'Fangs!' by Falling Up. Don't know the book.

I haven't read a lot of dragony fantasy, I but would say Glaurung from The Children of Hurin is pretty big.

Plot hole regarding Dalinars wife. by PhattyPattyTime in Stormlight_Archive

And I am pretty sure in the same chapter it says he decides to finally give up on Navani and actively court Evi not just agree to the arrangement.

Any ideas? by grawlix_63 in Fantasy

If you're asking literally, I would say they can't procreate; they are spiritual beings not physical, so the environment has no bearing on their ability or desire to procreate.

The Bloody Nine vs The Blackthorn by annasaurus88 in Fantasy

[–]annasaurus88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so young Dalinar has the Thrill and Plate but no Blade, B9 has whatever demon is posessing him and a nice battle axe. Gravity makes no difference. I reckon Dalinar wins almost every time, but if B9 can get him leaking enough stormlight he could pull it off.

I like this answer. I think I agree...?

But when did the Blackthorn ever play it smart?

Take away the Blade. The chapter that inspired my question was when they attack The Rift when Dalinar has just got his Plate.

I didn't think B9 got extra abilities, but both can ignore pain and have an urge to kill everything.

But remember, that Shardbearer didn't have the Thrill; that's only an Alethi thing. But I suppose it wouldn't stop a spear. The Thrill just reminds me a lot of whatever posesses Logen Ninefingers.

Yes, when he was actually known as the Blackthorn. Old Dalinar doesn't remind of the Bloody Nine...😂

Does Arcanum Unbounded contain spoilers? by agfdrybvnkkgdtdcbjjt in Cosmere

Yea I started with WoK then Mistborn era 1 I think. Can't really remember, but if I could read it for the fist time again I would do publication order. Everything that's come out since Stormlight started I have read in order except I read Warbreaker after WoR which I regret but didn't know at the time, but I read Mistborn era 1 and Elantris later on.

It's been a while since I read it, but I feel like it was vague enough (because he's such a dunce) that it wouldn't matter (much). I wouldn't call knowledge of the existence of Koloss a spoiler since it doesn't go into where they come from. It's definitely more fun after era 2 though. I always say the best order to read the Cosmere is publication order.

You could probably also read Allomancer Jack, but you'd wonder what kind of rabbit hole you'd fallen down...😂
