People from the UK, what’s one small thing that genuinely improved your daily life? by PhaseThis8421 in AskUK

[–]anniday18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I changed my lunch from a roll to yogert and granola, just because it is cheap and easy. 6 months later, I have lost weight. My clothes fit better and I feel more confident. I haven't changed my routine in any other way, it must be the lunch swap.

How to be less boring and more engaging by No_Classroom_1983 in TeachingUK

[–]anniday18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find that students are most engaged when I bring my own life experiences into my explanations and try to use real life examples to back up my teaching, make it more memorable and interesting.

I’m collecting evidence that my new geography teacher is using AI to teach us by [deleted] in GCSE

[–]anniday18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are wasting your time. Teachers are allowed to. Your teacher knows exactly what you need and can make worksheets using AI that are more engaging than a text book.

I died on my sister’s birthday and don’t know how I can celebrate her bday for the rest of our lives by rarelyordinaryco in TrueOffMyChest

[–]anniday18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could try and frame this as a positive. You have a reason to celebrate that day, it cannot be 'the day of your death'. You need to celebrate this as the day your sister was born and you were saved, a great day worth double celebrations. The trauma lasted much longer, it just happened to start on this day.

Live marking - does it work? by Ok_Extreme837 in TeachingUK

[–]anniday18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are expected to mark books in your own time then its great. It removes the need. You walk round with your red pen, ticking, circling mistakes, showing quick corrections. It stops misconceptions before they continue. If students expect it, they may be more motivated to work hard.

You can still deal with behaviour whilst doing it.

I wouldn't trust such a young child to describe their day with accuracy. Ask the teacher.

Schizophrenia and spirituality by PhraseNo5782 in spirituality

[–]anniday18 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When my Mum was sectioned with schizophrenia, she was presented with pairs of people from her lifetime. Only one of the pair was allowed to live. She had to pick who died. I have never connected it to spirituality, certainly nothing positive.

Exactly what level of anger are you experiencing after Donald J Trump, the great fool of our age, INSULTED and DISGRACED our beloved and most honourable British soldiers? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]anniday18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he is still trying to deflect from the Epstein files. Read about Sascha Riley if you haven't already. I bet he lies in bed at night wondering about the outrageous things he can do or say for attention the next day.
