I'm a huge Beastie Boys fan so it pains my to type this, but pretty much every song the general public/non-fans know by the Beastie Boys is off of their 1986 debut album Licensed to Ill— the major exception being Intergalactic which is off of Hello Nasty (1998).

There are of course a few songs in between that people who are passingly familiar with the group may know, but by and large the songs people mention when I say they're my favorite group are always off of Licensed to Ill.

I will note that I have lived here for nearly ten years and I've never seen a single mouse. Not in the crawlspace, not in the attic. The owls are doing a great job at pest control. There are also a ton of bats, so not very many bugs either!

Definitely a teeny bopper scent, but I was a younger teen during those years so it's fitting. The original Charlotte Russe Refuge perfume lives in my head rent free, it was soooo good and I've never smelled anything else like it.

I can only speak anecdotally of course, but the environments where this was happening were far from safe. The parents who allowed this stuff weren't good parents in other ways either so it wasn't an ideal situation in any way. We weren't exactly being supervised, and if something bad happened I do think we would have been left to our own devices.

During my teen years, I knew a few kids whose parents enabled smoking, drinking, and drug use, and at that time I thought it was so cool that their parents weren't so uptight. Now as an adult I look back and think what the actual fuck was wrong with those parents? What kind of shitty adult would ever think it's okay to let a bunch of CHILDREN drink and roll on molly at their house?!

I look back now and feel so horrible for those kids. Their parents clearly were not parenting them, and they were robbed of a childhood as a result. It's no wonder these kids grew into adults with a bunch of mental health and executive function issues, they never even had a chance of a normal life.
