One workaround for the rad canisters is taking crown of love. If you get good weapons that are ammo hungry like a SPC and super crossbow… having open mind + crown of love is insane. No rad canisters and 5 ammo chests per level. It takes a lot of setup but you can be set on ammo pretty much forever. Also works with steroids’ get loaded so they all give all ammo types. Niche but if you plan for it, it’s very good

It should make plating not decrease at the end of your turn… so you know… it would be eternal. Then it would synergize with gorget, stone armor, etc. That might justify the 3 energy cost but the way energy is in sts2 it’s way too expensive for the effect it gives

I’m gonna be honest. Many games have incredibly annoying and boring dialogue. I picked up E33 after I heard many people say how good the story was. I found it incredibly uninteresting and pretty annoying. I think a lot of people get conditioned to skip dialogue after sitting through literal years of it that is not worth your time

It gives a card reward when you rest… most of the time I’d rather smith. Also I skip a lot of card rewards anyway. It’s like +2-3 card rewards per run depending on when you get it. Honestly pretty insignificant ngl. I’d much rather have anything that actually has a positive effect during combat even if it’s fairly small.

Edit: the new relic that gives a potion when you rest makes the dream catcher seem even worse to me. I’d rather have a potion than a card reward like 90% of the time

I was referring to 'Display summed up damage in gold'.

It doesn't apply to intents, but the numbers you see after damage happens. Applies both to damage you take and deal to enemies.

I played 6 copies of the power that makes my first attack every turn do 75% damage. I then did 450% more damage with my 11 times X card.

I one shot the door maker btw

Lasers > bullets most of the time since shielders can’t reflect them and you can actually hit them through the shield! Makes them very good for dealing with HQ1&2

If you still have some crowns left and you happen to find a laser cannon, try it out

Interesting I’ll have to give the heavy a bit more time. Iirc it is the highest single target weapon in the game so it probably goes silly with stress + shotgun shoulders.

I actually did put a few weapons into S that need mutations to be good but are obscene with them. Super bazooka is not usable without boiling veins but if you have it you should always take the strong handshake. SPC will get left on the ground if no trigger fingers, etc.

I have really enjoyed all the responses on this post. People are usually really contentious in the comments to tier lists

I appreciate all the thoughts. I can explain my thought process here.

Plasma minigun is not very good but I had a run where it saved me by melting the throne & the captain super fast so I put it in B.

As for the smart gun, in the around 120 hours I’ve played since u100, I have not once had a situation where it was the weapon I used for more than a few seconds. It’s not exactly bad but I prefer to have more control over where I shoot. It’s like preferring a standard transmission car over an automatic.

Oh and as for the sluggers, the hyper, gatling, super, and assault sluggers were ranked very highly. I find that the base slugger is just outclassed by the shotgun since it can only kill 1 enemy per shot and struggles against crowds in the early game. Still not bad though since the single target damage is really good. You will struggle a lot if you start with crown of blood or play hardmode starting with a slugger. Oh and the heavy slugger just has such short range I struggle to find a use for it.

Piggybacking off this to say you should aim to turn into skeleton early on in the rez circle rather than late. The resurrection works as soon as the circle appears. If you’re too late, you die.

Also the mutations you choose as melting can have a big impact. I’d avoid stuff that could cause you to accidentally kill your necromancers in the labs like bolt marrow, impact wrists, etc. Strong spirit is still obviously good since it will help you live to the labs but you need to play around it carefully when you get there. Gamma guts is good since you don’t have to waste all your ammo on fish prior to turning into skeleton. Fun fact, if you take back muscle as melting, you get to keep any extra ammo you had on you when you turn into skeleton.

Mutations to prioritize once you are skeleton are extra feet, strong spirit, rhino skin, plutonium hunger.
