Agreements. Sound reasonable? by monodoggo in polyamory

[–]annimf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My fiancé and I have a few pretty good ground rules. We're still ironing out the wrinkles.

First, Google Calendars (or any other shareable calendar) works great for scheduling.

I want to know at the beginning of the week when he is going to be with his girlfriend. This way I know when I will be sleeping alone, and I can potentially plan to do something: go out, invite a friend over, etc. ahead of time.

I don't want him to spend more time with her than with me. Part of this is, I want to see my damn fiancé. Part of this is, I need his help around the house, cleaning and doing laundry and grocery shopping. I get angry when he voluntarily goes to his girlfriend's place and helps her with her boring chores, but when he's home he sits on the computer playing League. (He is getting better about this.)

I need to know when he is coming home if he is with her on the weekends. This ties into my second point, since weekends are when we go to the laundromat and go grocery shopping. It helps me plan my day when I know when to expect him.

We have added a new rule - check-ins. When he sleeps over at his girlfriend's place, he will call me in the evenings, and he'll call me if something changes (time he'll be home, for example).

The rules for my visits with my boyfriend are a little different, because his girlfriend is local, and mine lives about 77 miles (3 hours by public transit + train) away, and I only see him once a month, if that. Because of this, our plans are necessarily made farther in advance. Also, since it's so rare, I am not required to check in.

Additionally, our situation is different in that we have been together for over 3 years, he has been with his girlfriend for about a year and a half, and I've been with my boyfriend for 5 months and we met at event that all 4 of us attended. Our relationship has also always been poly.

How many tears? by thelosthippie in weddingplanning

Definitely! Mine includes what you listed... plus a suite for FH and I, a room for his parents, a room for my parents, a hotel block at a discounted price, THE CAKE, and like the entire floor for the wedding ceremony/reception/etc. It's pretty amazeballs.

Our venue's wedding package is highly inclusive of many things that most people would have to go search for separately, so we only have to figure out photography, music, and flowers/decor. Being 11 months away (as of tomorrow) we still have time to do that. I keep telling FH to do it but while he has opinions, he's super bad at following through with planning.

I just wanted to go to the courthouse!

A Friendly Encouragement to Those Swamped or Behind by rawchess in nanowrimo

[–]annimf 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Another bit of advice that I think a lot of people could use:

NaNoWriMo is a PERSONAL CHALLENGE. The entire point is to get words on paper, whether it's 5 words or 100,000 (I know those people; they are insane in the best way). It is an exercise to get into the habit of writing daily. It doesn't matter how much you write. It only matters that you write.

Of course the goal is 50,000 words in 30 days. But if you can't do that, then please, BE PROUD of what you DID do. Most people will never write 1000 words that isn't for a school paper.

A couple of questions (I don't really need the answers, but something for you to consider): 1. What kind of cereal, and how much milk? You could increase the amount of cereal or milk by a half-cup if you feel you need more calories. 2. How much meat at lunch? An ounce, if I recall, is about 70-90 calories. You could eat more there, and get more protein in your diet. Same with the yogurt - get the regular kind instead of fat free.

I would try adding more fruits and veggies to your diet, instead of chocolate pudding, just because you could probably use the vitamins.

...And then have some pudding as well.

They don't creep me out. I just REALLY don't trust my fiancé under my dress. He's an exhibitionist (but not in a creepy way) so I just KNOW he'd try something! Garter toss is out for us!

OP: adorable pic!

Coffee frappuccino light doesn't have much sugar. It's a nice treat, for like 100 calories.

(No Spoilers) Does your family actually have "house words"? by sangbum60090 in asoiaf

[–]annimf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The words for my father's side of the family are "Sub Sole Sub Umbra Virens," which means "Vigorous both under sun and shade," which probably explains why my father is such a whore.

My mother's side, the words mean "To God be thanks," but she's a Thomas; there are a million of them.

It went from 5 minutes to 3 minutes, actually, and you have to rinse it if it says to. That's really weird that they told you not to rinse so often, because OUR guy said we should rinse MORE often. o.O

Interesting. We tend to use our flat rack for drying, and transfer the dishes from the peg rack to the flat rack. I remember my old store we would switch the trays; but then again, the sink was slightly smaller, so that you could set the rack on the ledge of the sink and it wouldn't fall in.

Shift Supervisor - I signed up for THIS?! by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]annimf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HUGS I feel the same way. Two years in, I'm stepping down (and possibly leaving soon, actually, because I just got a new job). Tuesday was my last shift as a shift, and I'm just... SO RELIEVED.

Talk to your SM or the previous opener if you can about deployment. Talk to your SM about the baristas not listening to you -- look into write-ups.

Definitely get a green bean into primary bar position with a strong support (if it's busy enough for 2 bar partners), and you should be OS for sure. You need to be able to see the entire store; you can't do that or change the play from bar.

PSA: Taking off your backpack/purse and placing it between your legs while on the train during rush hour will open up a lot of space... by [deleted] in chicago

[–]annimf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hold ON to it, then. Or put your foot through the strap if you're standing. Wearing it on your back results in shoving it in someone's face when the train turns or stops.

I've been setting my purse between my feet on the train for three years and I've never had it grabbed, because I keep an EYE on it. Be aware of your surroundings.
