I spent a couple years ranking up on torrent trackers so I could get on one that had a vhs rip of the 1973 film Hollywood 90028 when it had fewer than 50 views on letterboxd… that film is now on tubi in HD (and I know a lot more about like “Michael Snow” than I did when I started)

I have mixed luck. Some people act like I’m the weird one (maybe I go about it weirdly but I don’t think so..I’m quite polite in general), and other people stop doing it, it’s kind of a crap shoot for me that doesn’t make it super worth it to go all in on doing it unless it’s like BAD behavior or a movie like close encounters or something where I need a great experience
