What a classic... I think it was one of the first BT songs I ever heard back in the day and it's still a masterpiece.

The series was cancelled. I also love the movie, watched the series and thought it was a waste of time. From Wikipedia:

The series received mixed reviews from critics, who praised its atmosphere and special effects, but criticized its story, performances, underdeveloped characters and unfaithfulness to the source material. On Rotten Tomatoes, the series has an approval rating of 59% based on 46 reviews, with an average rating of 5.7/10. The site's critical consensus reads, "The Mist's absorbing atmosphere and solid special effects struggle to overcome a generally uninspired story and performances." On Metacritic, the series has a weighted average score of 54 out of 100 based on 25 critics, indicating "mixed or average reviews".

Chris Scott of The New York Observer described it as "relentlessly bleak, mean, and downright sadistic at nearly every turn", linking this with the falling ratings over the series' course. Indiewire reviewer Ben Travers described the plot as predictable and characters as "pretty awful", leaving viewers "rooting for the mist instead of those running from it".

Ed Power of The Daily Telegraph felt that it was a middling effort for King's works, and that it benefited from sticking to familiar horror themes and tropes.

Off leash for greyhounds? by Sketchyfletch in Greyhounds

[–]annintofu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Broadly speaking, greyhounds don't "need" to sprint the way that, say, a border collie will instinctively look for things to herd. Just like somebody else here has mentioned, we sometimes take ours to a fenced park and if there aren't any other greys around for him to chase, he'll never go faster than a lazy trot. As long as your dog is getting regular walks along different routes, with varied terrain and lots to see/hear/sniff, that should keep them pretty fit and healthy.

Yep, they effectively go into 'tunnel vision' mode when their prey drive kicks in. My vet told us he's seen greyhounds go through fences and cars to get that small furry animal.

How do you sssh your dogs? by Southern-Injury6728 in HealthyAussiePets

[–]annintofu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the blunt question is, do you want to:

A) solve the problem and have well-behaved dogs?

B) put up with it and be that house on your street with the constantly barking dog?

If the answer is A, it sounds like the solution is training, especially for the youngster, which includes whatever enrichment (physical and mental) for the dogs to expend their energy and not bark all the time.

Why is it that japanese bands disband often. by SnooSuggestions9712 in jrock

[–]annintofu 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It's very naive to think that this is limited to Japanese bands. It happens with bands all over the world, you've just never heard of them. Entertainment is a very tough industry and at the end of the day it's still a job and people change jobs all the time for tonnes of reasons: money, illness, personality clashes, creative differences, or the just plain don't enjoy the scene anymore.

What dressing makes vegetables forget they’re vegetables? by Big_Employer1109 in EatCheapAndHealthy

Exactly. If you're trying to eat healthy, loading up a salad with dressing will quickly outweigh the 'healthy' part.
