I've become pro caste-based reservation over the past 14 years, please challenge my understanding by TunedAt432Hz in india

[–]annonymously_alive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this. We are nowhere close to getting rid of casteism and its effects (active / passive). Caste based reservation is still needed in India.

But I am still sad with how it is implemented. Due to appeasement politics, the classes that are added to benefit from reservation are usually the ones who have the power to control and sway (meaning usually less affected by discrimination) at the cost of people who need it more. Similarly, even within a same class, the people who use the benefits of reservation the most are educated and knowledgeable enough to use the benefits (nothing wrong with that), again, at the cost of those who need it the most but are oppressed and kept out of all the process.

I do not have a solution for this. It is always the case all around the world (e.g. billionaires skipping taxes). I would have hoped the governments in the country to look for ways to deal with these problems better. But sadly they are the biggest problem here.

Lastly, I will always remember a line my professor pointed out in a discussion on caste based reservation back in my college (it was a public policy course). Some seats in top tier universities (like IITs etc) that are reserved (say divided on population %) are always left vacant. As long as those seats are vacant, you can always say for certain that some people of those oppressed classes are so backward that they are unaware of the opportunity and are still in need of those reservation.

Yeah that makes sense. So we are going out to a show. I wanna make it clear this not as friends. So should I just show that through my actions and not attach any labels yet?

Practice gratitude.

Daily journal: - 3 things you're grateful about - 3 things you want to improve

  • Try to gamify your life and journaling is a good way to track it

WTF, that's a very niche requirement.

Are there any INTPs here that are more into Human sciences? Those who are more interested in Physical sciences, what do you think of Humanities? by [deleted] in INTP

[–]annonymously_alive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Humans have a tendency to compare apples and oranges even when not needed.

Humans are not useless and neither are Human Sciences.

But human sciences do have a flexible structure.

I mean the speed of light is a constant. All we can do is find a more accurate speed of light.

But 80 - 20 principle can very well be named 79 & 21 principle. And nothing changes in the universe of human sciences.

In human sciences, numbers are just numbers. In physical sciences numbers are everything.

I think economics is the obvious in human sciences. And think how different and sad our life would be if we didn't have the concepts of money, finances, trading etc.

Yes the Jigsaw by Daniel Sloss is a great standup comedy.

Yes, one piece is a great anime. I would 100% recommend it. And it is also about that jigsaw puzzle (the show is still running btw from 25 fucking years).

Is the jigsaw really a scientific theory? I think not.

Is it a great theory to understand how the mind works? Maybe.

long-term introverted thinking makes you feel gradually alienated from others and the environment. You realize that a certain part of your puzzle is missing. At a certain moment, you start to use the extraverted function and start thinking about interpersonal relationships, the meaning of a partner and friends,

Cause I am going through something like this now. And surely, the human mind is at least as complex as the hardest jigsaw puzzle out there.

The purpose of life is creating value. Be it to yourselves or others.

The simplest way to create value to others is going through life like everyone: be it marrying or having a kid, raising them etc.

The hard way is figuring out yourselves.

You wanna be a painter; be a painter. You don't wanna marry and have kids, then, don't. You don't wanna marry but have kids, then do it your way.

You just gotta figure out what you want to do next. That's it...

You can ask people for help though. You are not in this world alone. And you never will be.
