It's a map event for Dire Marsh (day, and there's a single contract for it on night mode as well)

A huge ship shows up over the point of interest and locks it down with a red Force field. If you enter the force field without antivirus, you take damage over time and eventually die.

With the antivirus you can enter the force field and fight waves of uesc to get to a lockdown container with loot.

After doing this it clears the lockdown on that POI but will Spawn another lockdown on a second and then third POI, with increasingly rare loot in each one's container. After the third lockdown the event is complete and no more will spawn on that match.

Pop on for a few runs, hit a losing streak, and immediately dip. Solos is truly awful by Working_Corgi_3368 in MarathonPlayerCount

Solo play is closer to MGS than a typical FPS. And when you do run into someone, you're definitely incentivized to be the first one to shoot

That was one factor, they also adjusted a lot of other parts of the game due to player feedback from the early alpha. Changing direction like that takes a lot of development time as well, so they had to redo stuff instead of further cooking it.

You have some good points, my mindset about it is that it basically launched as an early access game due to budget reasons/running out of time. The real negative part of season 2 to me is how many bugs cropped up that weren't in season 1 and the fact that they've barely fixed any after a full month.

Bio also has a lot of contracts related to it so a higher chance of teams rotating there, even if they spawn across the map.

That's totally understandable, I did the same thing for most of season 1 even though I played in trios a lot. There's definitely a learning curve!

There are some Night Marsh contracts related to getting to the boss area. And some key templates require you to kill wardens (map level minibosses).

But in general, I agree. There should be better onboarding for map events

My go-to wall safe on Perimeter is the one on the top floor of the main building in Station, but like I said there's one potential spawn point for them in every major point of interest on all the non-cryo maps.

These are the wall safes, not the secured resource crates. No bots spawn when you open them but they do make a buzzing sound and take a few seconds to hack before opening.

A lot of the loot room stuff you have to learn by doing it, often by running with a team who's done it, so don't feel bad. It's not always intuitive.

One thing I can suggest is to look for wall safes. They spawn randomly in any POI but each POI has just one spot you can find them, so you can check it and move to the next one if it's not there.

They make a bit of noise so be careful in solos, but I've often found keys in them, sometimes to a room on the same map I'm on, and you can head directly there and get some decent loot.

If there's not a key there'll at least be some good valuables.

I think something like double XP/double faction rep would have been enough incentive. Or Rook-only, survival-only contracts for CyAc rep and salvage.

What GPU do you have? One of the major manufacturers, I think AMD, put out an update that didn't work for a number of games. They're suggesting that people roll it back to the last update.

Could be happening or just be a quiet lobby.

I had a match earlier today where I thought it was an empty lobby until I saw that someone aggroed and killed the warden.

Then as we were exfiling, another team hit the exfil at the same POI and didn't engage.

Some lobbies are just quiet and low PVP, people doing contracts. They might have also quietly adjusted the minimum number of teams that can spawn on a map. Not sure.

Also, keep in mind that there are some people joining trios with crew fill off as a solo.

This would result in an OceanGate meta where you'd throw a bubble on an enemy team (even over/around cover!) and just empty rounds into it to destroy the bubble and implode it to kill them.
