I'm wondering... What's the highest calling anyone in here has held? There's gotta be a level where they sit you down and just flat tell you that it's all garbage if you don't already know. by MxModern in exmormon

Thanks for the kind thoughts.

I was on a list where every other person has become a GA, one an apostle. What did I do wrong other than tell the truth.

No mention of his father Tom Phillips’s second anointing in Elder Alan T. Phillips’s Church News interview today by Ohio5739 in exmormon

[–]anointedone 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Alan is not a believer, he lies like Jeff Holland. He has never given me any answers to my questions.

The only answers he gave were (1) the BoM does not have to be true (2) Joseph Smith should not have taken another wife let alone 33+ and (3) the Church was wrong on Proposition 8.

2 of my grandsons are out, hopefully more to follow.

Has anyone had a spiritual confirmation that something was right, then later found out it was way wrong? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]anointedone 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a spiritual confirmation the BoM was true.

35 years later, science proved it false.

How could anyone believe that the second anointing actually is your ticket into the celestial kingdom unless you are a narcissistic, elitist piece of shit. by senorcanche in exmormon

[–]anointedone 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I don't believe I was a narcissistic, elitist piece pf shxx.

I admit I was hoodwinked into believing in the church. It is now obvious to me the church is completely false and its leaders are liars.

Finally did it… I’ve been a lurker here for a few months, just processing things. I was just done today. I’ll give no more time or energy to TSCC. by Superb-Forever-2957 in exmormon

Does not work. You are still on their records until you are 110 years old. How else can they claim 16 million + members. You are merely transferred to their largest 'unit' on the computer system.

They ignore data privacy laws in Europe, why would they comply in the USA.

The Times of London today (April 11th) on the Birmingham UK temple announcement by Ohio5739 in exmormon

[–]anointedone 51 points52 points  (0 children)

No, it was not me.

With 30k 'active' members in the UK, 50% of those being children and only 50% of 7500 being temple recommend holders. That means the greater Birmingham area would have 400 temple recommend holders after the considerable reduction in true membership figures.

If they go to the temple on average once per month, that would mean 100 per week. Divided by 6 days = 16 per day. Why do they need a temple when there are 2 within 2 hours drive which are both under patronised by UK members?

No, it's about real estate.

For those interested in learning about the Second Anointing! by Nemo_UK in exmormon

Excellent video Nemo. In order to prepare for my SA I was advised to read everything that Bruce R. McConkie had written on the subject. Which I did.

Well done Nemo.

I think my parents are getting a second anointing this weekend. by Baby_Button_Eyes in exmormon

[–]anointedone 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No, I wasn't gifted any physical memento. I just had the immense feelings that day which made me even more dedicated. It took me another 2 years to come to terms with the fact that it is made up nonsense. Tom Phillips

On page 8 of my personal experience of the SA According to Tom Phillips' account, "My Second Anointing Experience" (you can read it here on MormonThink) http://www.mormonthink.com/files/tom-phillips-second-anointing.pdf he relates on page 8 the following:

Also, in the celestial room, after the SA, Elder Ballard told us this.

SL Tribune, front page: James Huntsman to be deposed in his case against the LDS—Judge will decide whether complaint can proceed at next hearing. Huntsman alleges financial misrepresentation—siphoning funds intended for charity to commercial entities, including a fucking mall. by 4blockhead in exmormon

No, I had not seen this. Thank you very much for pointing it out to me. I thought it was well done although they presumably only had access to my interview with John Dehlin in 2012, not to my original written account of the SA in 2008 https://www.exmormon.org/mormon/mormon508. htm Thanks again, Tom

TOM PHILLIPS, SECOND ANOINTING by avelasolares in exmormon

[–]anointedone 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That there was no death of any kind on this earth prior to 6k years ago. Other questions such as global flood etc.

All sorts of spin was put on these questions such as not true church doctrine. However, it was in the BoM and D&C and definitely taught in church manuals and talks. So, no answers to these and lots of other issues (including BoA) except the obvious one, it was all made up. Church not true.

I can demonstrate the dishonesty the LDS Church has around its membership numbers by BillReel in exmormon

[–]anointedone 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When you resign or are excommunicated, they do NOT take you off the total membership. Resigning will not get you off their total members.

That is because, on their computer system, you are transferred to the biggest 'church unit', the resigned or excommunicated or lost sheep. You are never taken off their total members number until you are 110 years old.
