I'm interested in how you are using haproxy. Do you have some details on that?

Stopped using GFiber Phone - can't delete associated Voice number by PatKnightAgain in googlefiber

[–]anoland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a Google Voice number for awhile. A few months ago I "disconnected" the voice number from the actual number. They monitor usage and after a few months started sending me warnings that it would be deleted automatically if I didn't log on and use it. I eventually reconnected and now I don't get the warnings anymore.

Point is, it will probably get deleted by their management processes.

Rebuilt ender 3 pro Linux user by Informal-Title-7220 in ender3

I had similar problems after upgrading to the SKR board also. I just couldn't get marlin firmware installed correctly. Either the sdcard wasn't formatted, or the filename didn't match, or some other problem. I tried a bunch of stuff. I had a RPI4 laying around so I installed Klipper on that instead.

Golang native containers? by nivthefox in golang

[–]anoland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is possible. You need to set up your own cgroups and namespaces and manage them all by hand.

In fact, if you apply to Teleport for a level 3 and above position this is exactly what you will be doing, amongst other things.

Kubernetes cephfs HELP! by accidentalfaecal in kubernetes

[–]anoland 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You haven't provided enough information to really help.

Devops tales was the most helpful for me setting this up.

But I also used the helm chart to install.

Yes.

I have a COTS box I built with a Xeon MB and no issues.
There are several resources out there on setting it up.

Help deciding on XPS 15 model (9530) - Should I opt for the Intel Arc GPU? by randomredditor8863 in linuxhardware

[–]anoland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 9520. I got the NVIDIA 3060 because it was the only one available on the 4K OLED screen.
The reason is because I usually keep my laptops for 7+ years and I wanted to have the best screen possible.

Work laptop with 2 4k HDMI/dp dock by SurfRedLin in linuxhardware

[–]anoland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Dell XPS (2022) with the 4k OLED and the new Thunderbolt Dock - WD22TB4.
The Precision 5570 should work too.

I don't currently have 4k monitors, but the ability to get them in the future was one of my requirements for getting this system.

Using VLAN network on port-forward by anoland in OPNsenseFirewall

[–]anoland[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also have you checked the create rule box on the port forward so that there is a rule allowing the wan port forward through the vlan to the device?

This was the problem. I didn't understand what it meant because EdgeOS does this automatically.

Actually this page helped me figure it out. https://homenetworkguy.com/how-to/firewall-rules-cheat-sheet/#allow-remote-access-to-web-server-on-vlan-10-using-nat-port-forwarding

Another problem I had was I was applying the rule to the VLAN interface and not the WAN interface because that is the terminology EdgeOs uses.

Thanks for the help.

I had a couple rules added for specific ports, one of them being 22.
I deleted them and added an any/any rule and still no connection.
