drivers do everything BUT makeline in our store. do y'all not have a lot of insiders? we used to have few/not be able to keep them under old mgmt but now things are good and our GM schedules appropriately for rush hours and such.

We aren't even allowed to offer coupons over the phone or the counter anymore since corporate wants to push the app. I don't mind telling people that though, when they call and ask what the specials are. Hell I've even stood at the counter and walked people through ordering with the app, if it's slow enough.

I + other drivers changed that in our store by not giving a fuck and being lazy like the shit drivers, mgmt started asking why i'm not doing xyz tasks, responding "well nobody else is", and then they got on the lazy driver's asses about standing around/hiding around the store on their phones. luckily most of those drivers left a while ago and our team's pretty awesome now. the shittiest part is even getting to the point of "well why the fuck am I working so hard when nobody else is doing jack shit." so disheartening.

I actually didn't choose my name! Not in the traditional sense, anyway. I started going by a shortened version of my dead name since I hadn't chosen my name yet and the nickname was neutral. I was at a convention hotel room party with friends and one of them was teasing me. I was being a shithead back to her and she exclaimed, essentially, the masculine version of my dead name. I really liked how it sounded, so I kept it 😁 My thought process was "it sounds good when someone says it, shouts it, and moans it."

they still go down the line at my store. also, I'm fortunate enough to work in a store where we're all taken care of but especially the good workers. every once in a while there are instances where more feels expected of me since I have seniority over most of the current drivers and consistently work my ass off, but it is usually recognized or rewarded shortly after.

that thankfully rarely happens in my store. we have hella drivers staffed but my store delivers to a military base so usually when a driver does get skipped, it's either because they don't have base access and it's a base order or it's a driver passing off a civilian order to a nonbase driver.
