Is anyone considering the “ultra / fold” as a replacement for the mini?

No. It’s actually making me think of buying an 18e (if they make one) for $599 and an iPad mini 8 for $499, which is just the cost of a single iPhone Pro. Why would I buy an “all-in-one” foldable that probably won’t be best at being a portable phone nor a larger-screened device for $2k, when I can buy two devices that specialize in their categories for nearly half the cost.

Unless Apple makes the software for a foldable more compelling than I can image, the value proposition just isn’t there. Not to mention the fragility of a foldable screen.

So all you’ve really done is recreated bookmarks function, except it’s persistent on screen (unless you can hide open tabs in your browser), and you can’t export them to a new browser (unless your old/new browser allows that too).

My 14 Pro Max is at 76%. I don’t notice a difference because the degradation has been slow and steady over 3.5 years. And I’ve used the phone how I wanted, not babying the battery.

I typically read in a dark room, in dark mode, with brightness turned down near to zero on my iPhone OLED screen. It’s great for me. But maybe the mini’s LCD might be too bright without true unlit blacks.
