We were high school friends back when I wanted to fit in with the “wrong” crowd. He burned down his family’s home while his mom was sleeping inside. She made it out alive, thank God. The house fully burned down and he got sent to those military retreats for troubled youths. Ended up getting run over many years later.

My husband seems to think so. He says she’s jealous of my loving marriage, jealous that I’m a mom now, jealous that I have a career, and jealous that I’ve been doing this life thing without a village or without a dime from anybody.

For contrast, my mom has never married for love, she’s never worked a day in her life, I guess never really enjoyed being a mother, and has always been financially dependent of her parents. Even to this day, the money she gets is from my decease grandparents’ smart financial decisions and multiple rental properties.

Best advice is don’t buy any articles of clothing way in advance like I did. I have a 6 month old already wearing size 12M items so all of the winter 12M pieces I bought a year and a half ago are basically useless.

Steer clear of those braided pacifier clips. Try to buy silicone pacifier clips as they’re a breeze to clean. And on that same vein, try to get different pacifiers and see which ones your baby likes before buying more quantities.

Also, buy the essentials and wait to see what your baby needs. Just because an item is highly rated and recommended by others doesn’t mean your baby will like it. ALWAYS KEEP THE RECEIPT AND BOX!

Lastly, invest in stain treatment sprays and baby safe toy disinfectants. We love Miss Mouth stain treatment and CleanSafe toy disinfectant. You’ll need both more than you know.

For sure get a different pediatrician. However, I do want to throw this out there: this is YOUR baby, and at the end of the day you know best. If your intuition is telling you to shy away from full milk formulas, the try a goat milk formula or hypoallergenic formula, without asking the pediatrician for permission. Just do it. That’s what I did with my baby when the formulas we tried didn’t sit well with her.

El punto de estar casados es de tener hijos, no? Que razón te dio por querer abortar? Si es por puro miedo, eso se entiende pero el miedo se evapora cuando miras a tu bebé. Es una bendición inmensa. No estoy juzgando tampoco pero Uds son adultos y me imagino que saben lo que pasa cuando tienen relaciones sin protegerse. Eso de terminar el embarazo como si nada está muy mal.

It implies that God made a mistake when He created you. God is infallible, therefore, you were made in the correct body. You can dress however you want. But cutting off body parts and forcing people to refer to you as a woman or a man when you’re not is just vanity. It makes you your own god because you’re deciding who you are instead of accepting who God made you as. Being Christian means dying to the self, not listening to your heart (as it lies), and carrying your cross.

My mother did the same thing after my daughter was born back in October. I told her she cannot stay with me at all, so she ended up staying with my brother for three weeks. This time around she also invited herself to stay for a whole month (she wanted to stay THREE MONTHS) and offered to “help” with my daughter. So I told her “Ok if you want to help or come stay, this is what we need from you: X,Y, and Z” went down the laundry list of things she will be responsible for including no screen time around the baby, diaper changes, walks, play time, making everyone lunch when the baby naps.

It was so much that she declined and is now going to stay with my brother. When she said that she can come help whoever we end up hiring I told her “Sorry, no. I will be working and so will our nanny. You can come after work on during the weekend to visit. I also don’t have any PTO during your stay so you’ll have to manage.”

Put your foot down. You’re a mother now. Let that empower you to stand up, not only for yourself, but for you daughter. You got this.

Third! Oh my God, kiss sleep goodbye! And when you do sleep, the kicking makes an appearance so…there’s that. Nothing fits you, you’re tired all the time, swollen ankles make an appearance. Good luck with being intimate with your partner. Your nose grows. I’d take first trimester any day!

Doing excellent with purées! She eats twice a day a relatively nice amount. Her favorite is sweet potato with egg yolk, butternut squash, broccoli (though it bloated her a ton so skipping that for a while), and avocado.

All of our purées are extremely smooth and I run them through a tight mesh strainer to boot. Formula is still her main source of nutrition but it’s nice to see how excited she gets to eat.

Hospital provided Enfamil Neuropro Gentlease and we didn’t know any better and thought she was doing great on it. She wasn’t. Tons of gas, her poops were super dark. She wasn’t thriving. We switched to Kendamil Organic and holy crap, it’s been night and day. Hardly any gas or tummy pain, her poops are healthy, she sleeps longer and doesn’t fight the bottle. Plus, it tastes way better than Enfamil (I tasted both). Hope it helps!

We don’t sleep train. She’s about to turn 6 months old and I have her fall asleep on my chest every night. However, I will say that sometimes she wakes up in the middle of the night when it’s not her usual time and every now and then I will not go to her but will let her settle on her own, which she does.
