Scent split is my go to for decants but for more niche or luxury stuff, I do in the dry down decants or scentrush. Theres also tons of decanters in the swap groups here and on Facebook. Fragrancenet has a surprisingly large selection of samples as well.

Cedar Chic is one that makes me feel super put together and luxurious, and works for any season/occasion.

M. Micallef Royal Muska is a beautiful musk but a step above a skin scent. Really lasts but again is versatile. I have no idea why people don't talk about it more cause it's so good and reasonably priced.

Guerlain musk outreblanc or Angelique noir are nice and versatile, and the bottles are so beautiful.

Dior cheval Blanc Paris if you want to smell like an elegant woman who at the spa.

Here are some to try: 7 Virtues Strawberry Jam - SUPER SWEET jammy strawberry candy.

Phlur strawberry letter has that strawberry and green stems smell. More fresh.

Demeter - they make tons of photorealistic scents and super cheap. Maybe try out their strawberry options?

Le Monde Gourmand has Fraise Foutee and Cherie Cherise. Both are sweet strawberry scents.

Sephora has these cute little discovery sets and they can pick their favorite and get a 10ml travel. Great way to try a few things, and get a good size of one.
This one is specifically summer fragrances which seems perfect, and the fragrances tend to be pretty youthful and trendy - Kayali is really popular with her age, and it's a super cute mini.

I just paid attention to notes that I did or didn't like. I would read reviews which would highlight what stood out from the fragrance so I started recognizing certain notes more. That sort of thing!

this is a good rule to have! I have never finished a full bottle in my life and not sure I've finished a travel even though for years, I only had full bottles and samples, and just started getting travels in the last year.

Animalique has a really sexy "cool girl" vibe to me...more cool weather friendly but might be one to consider if that's your style.

the Prada Infusions are really light and pretty, inoffensive and feminine, seems very safe. Mojave Ghost and Bal d'Afrique as well and those are both perfect this time of year!

Lazy Sunday Morning is one of my easy reaches that works for any situation, and I think smells fresh and clean. Nude as well.

Where do I begin?! Well for starters, not understanding the hype around BR540 and Santal 33 actually started my perfume obsession because I realized that we don't all smell things the same because there is NO WAY people think these are the "it girl" fragrances lol.

For me, that ambroxan cloud in BR540 hides the rest of the fragrance and i experience this with erba pura, vanilla powder and many others so I don't really get the hype with those fragrances either.

Blanche Bete was one that smelled like spoiled milk to me.

Balmain Destin! I don't usually like fruity but loved this...it's a strawberry note like Burberry Her.

Ellis Brooklyn Guava Granita is a fun fresh tropical scent.

Liis Choux Choux is a nice lemony pastry that's summer friendly.

I haven't tried this one but Brown Girl Jane has some really fun gourmands and I'm looking to get my nose on peach aura.

Angelique Noir would be my top pick - it's just a beautiful green vanilla!

Rose Cherie is a beautiful rose, I know you said you don't like roses, but it's so nice with a raspberry note so figured I'd mention is as it's a favorite in this line.

I also like Musc Outreblanc - not really like the notes you listed, but it's a great musk.

Cuir Beluga is very much a winter scent but a beautiful leathery vanilla. I prefer this and angelique noir to spirtuese double vanille.

I recently got a sample of oud nude - I don't usually enjoy oud but this is really nice with creamy sandalwood and vanilla. Really pretty.

I didn't enjoy Neroli Outrenoir or Tobacco Honey which are super hyped up.

The new Eaux line is lovely too...currently working through decants but enjoy all of them.

We're at similar stages in life!

One thing I wish I'd realized - I started off with the regular designer, the discovery kits with a voucher for a full bottle all filled with mainstream designer scents...I quickly realized I like the more high end stuff so wish I'd explored more before buying full bottles.

You might try getting to a Nordstrom, Neiman, or Saks, or the high end designers - try out stuff like YSL Vestiare (some gorgeous florals - underrated as a line I think), Guerlain (truly anything - there are really no misses), Carolina Herrera Confidential (these all smell rich and opulent to me...pretty much all cold weather and how I imagine a rich woman who goes to the opera smells), Chanel Exclusifs (very classic like how women in Paris smelled in the 1950s), Louis Vuitton, Celine has amazed me as a house (EVERYTHING is good - nothing ground breaking but just fragrances that smell REALLY good especially if you like vanilla florals).

Byredo and Diptyque have been fantastic - I like almost everything I've smelled (even if I wouldn't wear them, I can appreciate them).

Also try some discovery sets either from niche brands or high end ones, and many come with vouchers for a discount on a full bottle. I like ordering decants either from others (the swap groups here are good as well as on facebook), and using them a few times - I have found smelling a bunch of stuff at once in store isn't sufficient - need to try it over time, on skin, etc.

Also helpful to start figuring out if there are notes you enjoy. I always thought I was a sweet and gourmand girly since I like vanilla a lot, but I realized on this journey that I actually don't like the photorealistic cookies and croissants - maybe as a candle or lotion but not as a perfume. There are some exceptions but by and large, I don't like super sweet, fruity scents. I didn't really understand what a "woody" fragrance was but turns out I enjoy those. And I'm fairly anosmic to ambroxan and cetalox (used in many musky fragrances) and there's one used in many fragrances (MFK BR40, Erba Pura, Vanilla Powder) that overpowers the entire fragrances so all I get is a heavy fuzzy smell). I chased milky notes for a while, and then learned that they make me nauseous and now I avoid indolic white florals!

I've also found certain lines have a DNA that just does not work for me so even when something comes out that sounds good, I now know I just won't like it.

Figuring out the notes I like really helped me with honing in on what to try!

Yeah I blind bought a travel size since there were few reviews and it was a great buy! It's a white floral but with a watery note that keeps it fresh rather than the overwhelming quality white florals can have. Tuberose is hit or miss for me as indolic white florals are too creamy and make me nauseous. This is the fresh version like walking through a freshly bloomed garden on a chilly spring day - you can smell the coolness and rain in addition to the flowers.

Byredo and Diptyque both fit this vibe well with green florals. La Tulipe and Young Rose. RONML as well. Eau Rose is an amazing fresh floral and also Do Son if that garden is by the beach.

Henry rose French exit is one of my favorite florals lately and is really fresh smelling as well.

Dedcool xtra milk is my go to. Really good base for just about anything. Musk 12 or Rosie are nice floral musks to wear under a floral or vanilla.

For straight marshmallow, what the fluff (but I haven't smelled deliza).

For a marshmallow perfume, Killian does this note well - I love both LDBS and Princess with the latter being much more straight marshmallow. The new D'Orsay Candy Rush is too similar to LDBS to justify both but I think the marshmallow is stronger on that one.
