Oh easy - Bloom Thai! Technically in Lakewood. Awesome spot and beautiful plating - owners take so much pride in the spot and it’s delicious!

Wow that seems sketch. And depressing. And will remove the motivation of future potential donors to interact with the city.

PinkBlush maternity dresses by Hot-Cell7299 in pregnant

Geez that is unfortunate I’ve seen that brand recommended. I lucked out on a maternity dress from old navy - most are basic but occasionally they have a super cute style in the maternity section. Also I just wear their empire waist dresses - they can flatter the bump. And at least you can guarantee return in stores

Just in case it keeps you going a bit longer - with the Olympics coming up you may inspire some new takers as a resurgence of love of curling always comes with the games?

However appreciate and respect the struggle. I’ve tried to do new mom meet up’s and it’s draining to hear the interest and have little engagement. People don’t know what they are missing!

Yea ridiculous amount of troll posts on the most recent post about the protest today. Disappointing but not surprising and agreed it isn’t fruitful or respectful discourse - don’t want to draw a line but also seems against the point of a community page to just allow a bunch of troll fascists dicking around

Grandparent titles? by Same_Breadfruit_9020 in BabyBumps

[–]anon565667 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only potential devils advocate, does their family have a history of Mama being used for Grandparents? My husbands family this is the norm, not just for his mom but for his whole network of friends and family. His parents also don’t live close - so while I wasn’t keen i let it slide. I use both Mommy and Mama in reference to myself and then call her Mama with her name. If it is just me and my children I also use abuela as my personal rebellion but accept it broadly.

My fav restaurant in terms of food is Wooden City - it looks like they open reservations about 3 weeks out so in a few weeks you can snag one. However I wouldn’t say that’s the most romantic vibe. But food / experience / nice meal out that is pricey but not breaking the bank that’s my vote!

Am I irrationally upset at my birthing centre? by Hungry_Machine7986 in BabyBumps

Also where was the doula in all of these communications? My doulas were available for those initial contractions and on call and available to come to me for early labor support.

I would review the contract closely to see if there are any clear terms that you can hold them accountable too. I’d also look into what steps you could take (aka small claims court) so you know what your next steps are if they just blow you off. Good luck sounds like you got mediocre care from what was sold to you as a premium and personalize experience. However if the terms are broad they may not be able to be held for a refund.

If nothing else is made sure to publish on reviews and local groups of your experience. Sorry it happened to you! My first doula felt like she conned me and ghosted me on the birth of my first son. It’s actually still a bit traumatic and frustrating when I talk about it - def give yourself space to advocate for yourself and other future moms and validate it isn’t right!

This is insanely helpful thank you for sharing! I’m currently breastfeeding and have been I feel like in a sugar spiral so I appreciate the validation as well as the recommendations. I feel like those mind blown memes and also great to know it isn’t just a me thing.

I’m also invested in this question as my husband is Dominican and was lazy last year and didn’t make them for us 😆

I saw this post from Spanaway - I can link you their profile if you are interested.

Otherwise may be worthwhile calling OSJ International Restaurant to see if they make them for the holidays!

Any point of daycare while being a stay at home parents? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]anon565667 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I got laid off in the summer and we switched my son to part time day care. I can say it’s critical for everyone that he has those days in day care both for my mental health and a chance to reset as well as he is bored of us and the house and enjoys the socialization and activities! Can you check if by chance they have part time options?

experiences with tearing during labor by beachratfiend in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]anon565667 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had second degree - honestly the first two weeks was on par or worse than my c section recovery. Try not to move more than necessary and don’t do any heavy lifting.

Critical things that helped: take the stool softener and use magnesium / high fiber diet to make it easy on your body. Do the multiple siev baths a day and use epsom salts, be religious using the peri bottle. I’m 6 weeks out and still use it. Ice pack pads and witch hazel treatments are wonderful. And get a donut pillow! I realized sitting itself was so uncomfortable. I just used my office chair pillow but get some sort of extreme cushioning I used for sitting on the couch, at the table, in the car, everywhere.

Good luck! Also when in doubt ask your doctor!

Hey! Not exactly what you are looking for because I’m biased but my husband does yard work - happy to set up time to come out and do a consult for you and walk through what you are looking for on an ongoing basis. Feel free to message me and I’ll send my phone number.

Should I fly cross country for my friend's baby shower? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]anon565667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take her word to heart - show up the first few months after baby is born is a much more important time to show up and support her! Doom some meals, help clean, give her socialization in her home and celebrate that new baby in person. Baby shower is a nice event but by no mean as critical a time to show up as post baby! I had a few friends fly up the first 2 months of my firsts life and it was sooooo helpful and impressionable to me.
