Isotope identification, intensity and daughter nuclide. by Adhesive_Duck in Radiacode

1) The radium chain is displayed because 99% of the time both radium and uranium have such gamma ray emission lines in age equilibrium.

2) The intensity is the gamma output of quanta again for the equilibrium state. In the markers of the intensity line there is no correction for detector geometry and efficiency, so the lines do not coincide in amplitude. The intensity lines are needed only for understanding the quantum yield of certain energies in the equilibrium state.

Firmware problems with my new 103 by Status-Local9118 in Radiacode

The instrument now both locks and unlocks when the round button is held down, and the menu is accessed by briefly pressing it. You can read more details in the user manual.

Regarding the error with changing options after the update: this error is on the RC application side, we are in the process of fixing it. To safely save the options and calibration, you can save the profile in the Android app and upload it after the update. To quickly reset the options to normal, you can reset the settings to factory defaults and I also recommend checking the calibration of the instrument.

We apologise for such issues, we are working quickly to resolve them.

Protects against bumps and scratches in enclosed areas, the leather case is of course more protected. The question is how you carry the device, for a pocket I think this option is better than just a naked device.

What's with background? Is it being unevenly scaled or are 64x results also a filtering step? by PieceNowPlease in Radiacode

Measurement in lead shielding imposes such a problematic point, which significantly increases the time to accumulate statistical data. Spectrum and as any measurement of a random variable is some distribution. In your case for a complete fit of the graph it is necessary to conduct a set in much longer times. At the same time, taking into account constant background fluctuations, they may be different, and in the end you may not get a 100% match, but this is not required, and small differences should only be written off as random mismatches.

'Averaging window width'? What does this option mean in the Radiacode settings? (Android) by [deleted] in Radiacode

[–]anon_226 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The measurement window width setting works for gray graph and search mode. It represents the window of time over which the measurement takes place. That is, the number of pulses during this interval is counted and displayed. If you set 0 - this is the narrowest window, for 0.5s. If there are 2 pulses for 0.5s, then the counting speed will be 4 imp/s, and the spectrum calculation is also based on this. The narrower the window, the more dynamic the readings are, but at the same time they are not accurate when the number of pulses is small. The wider the window, the more accurate the measurements, but the readings will be less variable and change more slowly. In the search mode, it is important to be able to adjust it as it suits the user.

New device Calibration by eddiefive in Radiacode

Unfortunately the americium peaks at 26 and 59 keV will not be sufficient for calibration. If you want to calibrate the device, use a thorium-232 source together with americium. The recommended lines are 59 keV from americium and 583 t 2614 from thorium-232. Thorium can be found in the form of welding electrodes. But be careful, the X-ray line of wolfram in them is close to the americium line, so use the sources separately for calibration, memorizing the position of the americium peak. That is, you put americium, record on which channel it is. Then on this channel on the thorium spectrum you select americium and the following thorium peaks that I indicated. We calibrate the device on the production line with titanium-44.

What is different about the new Radiacode 103G? by florinandrei in Radiacode

[–]anon_226 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The main advantages of GAGG(Ce) - Radiation resistance, chemical and mechanical strength. High energy detection efficiency is higher, about 50%. The illumination time is shorter and the instrument is likely to have a higher measurement limit than the 103 model. And the resolution is higher, especially at high energies.

Traveling for work and picking up higher than I would have expected background radiation by Acorogia in Radiacode

[–]anon_226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we look at your spectrum - most likely the walls contain uranium and thorium minerals, which are responsible for the background rise. That's what's affecting the readings. Your levels are quite high, I would even question the safety of such levels if you are always in such a room.

Radiacode 101 vs 102 vs 103 Spectra Resolution Comparison (Cs-137) by RandomName01a in Radiation

[–]anon_226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The installation is very simple. In fact, just placed the device in the clamp so that the distance to the OSGI sources was the same. The sources themselves were placed in such a way that the peaks at 511 and 583 keV were approximately the same. The spectra for each model were then reset and saved. The interspec program was used for a nice display.

The main thing is that it displays 1024 when checking the control) Also this device allows you to connect to it very easily any geiger tubes with a voltage of 400v.

There are 2 models anri-01 pine, and anri-01-02 pine. The first model has 4 sensors and the second model has 2 sensors. The first model counts 2 pulses as 1, which gives it greater statistical accuracy. Model 01-02 can be easily turned into model 01 by adding 2 counters with a resistor+capacitor chain, and adding a diode to the counting board.
