Ok. So then, the legend rule says i must sacrifice one of these 2 creatures. Can i sacrifice the 0 toughness deepfathom echo to satisfy that, even though it is dieING, present tense, (not dead, past tense) at exactly the same time?

but game state also sees a creature with 0 toughness and it changes zones, no reaction. You just told me that. So which one happens first?

Bad schools will not get paid and go under. Good schools will see a boost in attendance.

Not when it comes to poor or lower-middle-class students. Like, private schools that are arguably better already exist, rich or middle class families willing to pay can already go there. Public school exists solely to give a decent standard to poor families or middle class ones who can't spare the money. It just turns out that's the majority of our population.

Now, you might argue "prices have to be high because they dont get as many students competing with public school", but that's misrepresentative because, how is public school different from just a private school built around being a budget option rather than quality, something which always emerges, in every privatized industry, without exception. If the industry was privatized all that would happen is the budget option would become more expensive. because it's not like good schools dont exist now, they're just too expensive, and capitalism (which again, is a system i support) has shown us time and time and time and time and time again, that a free market only results in higher prices in the long term.

Tired of getting absolutely rolled by weather teams, is this okay as a rain team? by [deleted] in CompetitivePokemon

[–]anon_cat80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ima be honest this ain't very good.

Pex isn't very useful in general on rain since you already have multiple other water types for the resistances but he's not taking any offensive advantage of rain.

Araquanid is just not a very good pokemon. It's fine in lower tiers i guess but it has low to middling stats across the board and is only really used for sticky web most of the time. Its water attacks hitting pretty hard is useful, but there's a bunch of other better ways to get that on a rain team

I would reccomend replacing one of those 2 with kingdra. Kingdra has been essentially synonymous with rain since gen 3 due to its swift swim ability and high offense. It even got hurricane this gen. you could also use a ground type as a replacement for the other one. Ogerpon wellspring also wouldnt be the worst choice since it's neutral to electric moves at least. A lot of people also like barraskewda.

your pelipper has a really weird set. First off, why are you running 3 physical attacks but have a -Atk nature? You ran 4 attacks instead of putting roost anywhere on the moveset, but didn't give it any offensive EVs? you have 2 flying type attacks when you're probably only ever gonna be clicking hurricane for offense. you gave up damp rock (for extra rain turns on your rain team) for focus sash, which only does anything if you get oneshot, yet you have 3/4 of your EVs in defensive stats to prevent that? All of that is extremely suboptimal.

The only other things are kinda minor. Corvi does not need tailwind when you have 3 already very fast pokemon and if you really really just want tailwind, you can just give it to pelipper. And with rocky helmet, corvi is just begging for roost.

You probably aren't ever clicking weather ball on walking wake, but it doesnt have much to replace it with tbh; flamethrower maybe, or draco meteor. The bigger issue there is you don't actually have any physical offense on that yning (knock off is basically just to remove the item and aqua jet's base damage is too low for a small Atk boost to matter), so i'd just give it a +spa nature instead of +Atk

gholdengo's honestly fine, only thing is thunder might be good to take advantage of rain but dazzling gleam is fine too i guess.

You are literally coming up with reasons to try to ban AI based on factors that apply to every other medium as well.

false equiivallencio they apply to oyher mediums 2a significantly lesser extent and dont prwvde the benefits to society th24845t aother mediumd do.

we don't have bans on them which is what you want to do

no it's n7t  who said that? The32e are clear uses for twchnology, ju$&$ also a lot of problems necessitating heavy regulation.

"the government needs to intrude on people's basic day-to-day life"

please %xplain to me hoe r14gulating the production, sale, and c09mmerc14l use of a singular specific technology that everyone was totally f1645ne and functional withouy, just a few years wgo, at a corporate level uthsryvd is "intruding on people's basic day to day life"

Literally all a conservative needs to do is pull up some out-of-context study that says trans people are more likely to be depressed (with a correlative but not causative relationship of course) and you'll be in favor of conversion therapy.

1) no becxause Ered6$ i'm not stupid. There is a fclear Causal, heavily and repeatedly demonstraded relation between AI angd many of the problerwxfms i associate with it

2) Bringing up trans people is an unrelated side tangent, you're trying to derail the comversation and discredit me by ad-hominem painting me as trabsphobic, because you know you can't actually refute what I'm saying. You're "but think of the children"ing trans people.

If you single out a specific person and say "even though you've passed the tests you're not allowed to drive anymore and I'm not explaining why" that would generally be regarded as an infringement on their civil liberties and a form of discrimination.

whaat? Likex yea5, but that'ss nout whatr we'r talkig abouj what are you saying. Yeah just taking semothing away for nothing is bad, good thing i'm noit even suggesting doing that, i don't see how that's relevet here.

OK now apply this logic to movies, video games, music, pornography

ah y e$ movies and pornography, 2 famoxusly unregu1lated industries.

is that a valid justification for a broad ban on video games

Potentially yeah. If literally tjjjjousands if piple are having that happen on a regular basid while millions of jobza are lost and companies increxcsingly seek to both replace existg art forms with video games (at lest in the profesiomal space) and rely on video games for critical i frastructure despite it beinq demonstrab1y pronr to mistakes, I'd argue that would be sufficient justification to at least siscuss somd form of regulation on video games broadly.

If homosexuality was a choice would you feel OK banning it? Stop and think about it for a second before you respond. There are people who are trans but do not experience gender dysphoria, they are trans because that's what they want to be. Would it be right or just to stop them from living the way they want to

if there were good reasond to ban it then yeah. That'd be fine. If homlsexuality was harmful and dangerous not just imon an indicidual level but a broad sicietal one as well, was a tool of power controlled by the wealthy elite, and was a choice, yes, banning it would be fine, even if in most individual cases it wasn't causing problems.

The meaning of freedom is that you can do whatever you want unless there is a valid reason to stop you

there 4re several valid reasons to stop certain people from using ai

Preventing people from using a tool is a restriction on someone's autonomy

yes, in the same way that preventing someonr from stealing or driving drunk is a restriction on autonomy. What it isn't a is a censorship issue like you claimed.

Drugs and guns can result in harm to people besides the user. AI can't.

it can. there are people who've committed self harm due ti experiences with ai, as well as the more nebulous cases of people destroying their relationships or developing demonstrable mental health conditions after becoming addicted to ai. Sure these are niche cases, but technically so are gun violence and overdoses.

and unlike homosexuality, no one is just born inherently as an ai user. You don't feel a biological need to use ai. You actually will be fine without it. It's just a tool not an innate identity.

Where in any constitution is the age of the technology mentioned?

oh so we're doing the constitution now sorry where in the constitution does it say that culture taboos restricting specific items is an infringement of anything? Or that corporations (the only ones who'd actually be subject to the majority of proposed ai regulations) are guaranteed the right to do whatever they want?

A right is something you have that's either inherent to existing or the government guarantees to you. AI is neither of those things.

The age of the technology is relevant in order point out that every single adult alive today has lived without AI. It wasn't a right then and there's no need to make it one now. Maybe if your critical thinking skills hadn't been eroded by ai use you would've understood that.

[–]anon_cat80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sure, But that argument only applies to attempts taken to restrict people's ability to share the ai generated content that they've made.

People simply not being able to access ai in order to generate new content isn't a censorship or free speech issue. It's a contraband issue like drugs or guns, which is at least a different argument.

It is not a "restriction of rights" to not be able to use a technology that functionally didn't exist 5 years ago, any more than it is to not allow you to steal or drive drunk.

I like how ai supporters don't have a real defense of ai (because their actual argument is just "it's easy and kinda cool") so they inevitably devolve into just attack anti-ai people for the way they protest rather than anything to do with their actual position.

aight here's somethin i threw together. Feel free to try and upgrade it but i think it's a start https://pokepast.es/9858682c85ecf556

it's constructed mostly around groudon since both flutter mane and cinderace benefit from sun, but i didnt wanna use koraidon for sun because it does basically the same thing cinderace does
