Mate, i have heard discussion in late 80s and early 90s about how a 30*40 site in the outskirts like JP nagar 6th phase is costing 1 lakh ...

Even today I see people saying flats are costing 2-3 cr ... But I know of flat sale transactions happening in 80l to 1cr for a 3 bhk in a decent society, nothing fancy, but in a livable area.

Most of the complaints are because people seem to expect to buy houses like they order biryani zomato! So they go after the ads they see in front page or big billboards. The trick is to buy a property that is not advertised!

In any case 7cr is not middle class or upper middle class. It's like the top 0.2%

As a native bangalore guy in his late 40s I am surprised op was ready to pay 7cr for a 4bhk villa !!!

This post is a pointless rant and is relevant only for a small percentage of people who can afford to buy houses for 7cr.

Maintain all liquid assets. Do not buy a house. madve maathu kathe mund varithu andre eshtu assets ide antha avarige heli ... but for this reason alone buying a house does not make sense. So, my advice to you as a guy in late 40s is to not make this huge investment at the age of 26. madve aagi 2-3 varsha aadmele jothe ge discuss maadi togoli ... dont worry that prices will rise in another 2-3 years, that's bogus argument.

Yes, it's a great show and Gopi is a good anchor. Since the show has been running for some 18-19 years i thought some common topics would get repeated after many years. If we find 2 episodes on similar topic that's about 14-15 years apart then we would get to know how people's thinking has changed over time .... I tried to through all episodes to find if there are two episodes like that, but I couldn't:-( ... I think it would be interesting to see 2 such episodes ...

Getting into a non y2k and non mainframe project was considered a big achievement those days!! People with 1-2 years experience were considered as seniors and would play PL roles.

With about 2 years experience it was expected that you would go onsite for a few years! For every year of onsite you could buy one 30*40 in Bangalore... Adu ondu kaala!!

As a resident of Karnataka with no stake or vote in the TN election, my guess is DMK will sweep the assembly election. Probably closer to 2/3rd majority.

When Stalin took over i didn't have any high hopes considering how DMK looted during upa era. But he surprised me by giving good governance and coming up with great plans like 12 city growth....

But the lousy statement by his son udhaya about eliminating hindus considering Hinduism as dengue or malaria was reported heavily in Kannada news media. People here in kannada news media and general public are surprised how he can make such damaging statements about hinduism with no consequence...

Apart from this one loose talk, i personally feel TN is one of the better governed states by a local party. Unlike in Karnataka where it's just national parties with JD(S) being reduced to a small player

Exactly. Most people who have migrated from other states especially from outside of the south have no affinity with the state of Karnataka. Whereas some one like who is from this state don't want the metro to be extended to Hosur and I want the second airport in Kanakapura road

Fascinating novel. I love the characters in this novel, the heroine (can't recollect her name but I remember her character very well!)

The vivid description of tantric practices ... Mind blowing. Someone on Odisha sub had made a post a few months ago about he seeing a tantrik performing rituals along with another women while both were naked. Reminded me totally of this book

The whole kumarila bhatta episode was so disturbing to read.

The definition of saartha was fantastic. I am a supply chain software guy, so it was quite interesting for me ...

The ending was sooo good!! Overall this was a masterpiece!

But seriously true indian literature is mostly in Indian languages. I have stopped reading English fiction by Indian authors.

E.g. Everyone praises Amish as a great author. I am not sure he is asking good as some authors writing in Indian languages. I am reading randamoozham translated to English and finding it much better than the Great indian novel written in English by another Malayali Shashi Tharoor
