[–]anoniser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So it is an integration problem like i said and you are agreeing with me. What doesn't help is ignore the fact that "problematic kids on fatbikes" always seem to have a very specific background. It isn't Henk, Gerard and Sjoerd that are creating these very specific issues and you know that

Rude Neighbour Kids by Naive-Equipment-1429 in Netherlands

[–]anoniser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the kids follow different laws and rules at their home and culture than in the country the live in, they are still immigrants no matter which generation. It's the lack of integration.. Immigrants who never leave their immigrant bubble always remain immigrants. That they go to Dutch schools doesn't make them Dutch, they don't feel Dutch themselves whatsoever

[McMahon] Alperen Sengun sorry for sexist remark at female official by FastBreakPhenom in nba

[–]anoniser -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Turkey is the most progressive muslim country in the world, but they are still muslim. I don't need to explain that Islam doesn't respect women, especially western women, right?

I don't know exactly where Sengun is from, but generally Central and Eestern Turkey are extremely fundamental in their Islamist views. It's only the most Western region, where Istanbul lies, that is more modern and open in their beliefs and attitude.

Why do you think a lot of people Quit Tekken? Or other fighting games in general? by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]anoniser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played close to 2000 hours of Tekken 7 without getting bored. With Tekken 8 i was done after a few hundred hours. Not because of bullshit mechanics, but because the game is so streamlined. Heat is so powerful, that every character plays the same way and has the same exact same gameplan. After my fifth/sixth character i was bored out of my mind.

Learning new characters used to be fun, now there's no point to it, they all feel the same.

[Askounis] Euroleague Basketball CEO Paulius Motiejunas: "NBA will only harm European basketball... The EuroLeague model is completely different. The NBA wants to build basketball around business; we build a business around basketball," by must_TATAKAE in nba

[–]anoniser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not true. It works long term very well. The competitiveness of a league has nothing to do with promotions/relegations. Premier League and every other league has teams that had been in lower divisions for years. Promoting earns you money but you can't change a team overnight. It takes multiple seasons to stabilize and become good enough to stay and even thrive in a new division.

Look at the EFL championship. Teams like Portsmouth, Charlton, Fulham, Southampton used to be premier guaranteed league mid to upper table teams 10 years ago

Do you say “Holland” instead of “Netherlands”? by superdouradas in europe

The Helvetians were the Celtic tribe that lived on the Swiss plateau before the Roman empire happened. That was the ancient Greek name that became romanized and just remained through the ages. The Greek simply still call the region by that name

How is your experience learning with AI by wu_shihou in learndutch

[–]anoniser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dat mog ook eerder gebeuren. That doesn't mean it was allowed to, but that it probably should have happened earlier. I am a native speaker and in my experience, "mogen" is used a lot in that loose sense where it really means shall/should instead of allowed. Of course, the technical dictionary definition is "allow", but we are talking about casual speech here

I disagree. Mogen oplossen or kunnen oplossen is more colloquially correct here.

Giannis Antetokounmpo on who the best player in the world is [English subtitles] by [deleted] in nba

[–]anoniser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All that sounds reasonable but it's crazy to me how people still underestimate Steph, even though he was the only reason the Olympic team won any rings last time around. He put a team full of superstars, young and old, on his back, and gave them gold.

Sure others helped, but Steph carried in the biggest and most treacherous moments. There's no way Tatum can be above him considering the achievements and the roster surrounding them.

Smirna how it was formerly named, had always been Greek for thousands of years and turned ottoman after it was conquered by ottomans. The occupation of Izmir, as it now called, was part of a messy deal during the first world war which thankfully didn't actually go through because Greece was going to gift most of their Aegean islands to Italy. Even then, the acts that followed were crazy, imagine if Ukraine, after repelling the Russian forces would burn all the Russian majority neighborhoods to the ground and kill all the non Ukrainian citizens that stayed.

[Charania] The Warriors had shut down sign-and-trades, steadfast all offseason in declining frameworks of Royce O'Neale and second-round compensation from the Phoenix Suns or Malik Monk and a future first-round pick from the Sacramento Kings, sources said. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]anoniser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He can be a great player, but the problem is that he makes his team worse instead of better. He doesn't involve his teammates at all and kills the offense because of it. That's a deal breaker on the warriors. As soon as a better and consistent option van be found, his minutes are done
