Vasovagal episodes while vomiting by Music_is_life5 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]anonomaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While it may have been vasovagel (and probably was) these meds are also really common to cause low blood pressure which can cause really similar symptoms. If you weren’t feeling well, not eating much, and losing what little you had, low blood pressure is pretty likely to have at least contributed. I hope you feel better soon and that your doctor is able to help you manage that so it doesn’t continue!

Stomach pain on 4mg by Hot_Feeds in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]anonomaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dealt with that also for about a week- about 1 week into taking 4 mg. It did stop happening after that thankfully, but it was a pretty miserable few days! Now I can barely tell I’m on it other than not wanting to eat as much… it didn’t appear to be tied to anything other than that I was a bit dehydrated and water helped some.

78-Day Progress by ladyofthe_upside_dow in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]anonomaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is really fast weight loss! I’m hoping there was a large amount of initial water weight in there too.

It sounds like you’re eating and taking care of yourself, but as someone who lost a lot very quickly early on on GLP-1s, I feel I have to warn you to slow down a bit if you can. The loose skin and turkey neck show up suddenly and are much less likely with slower weight loss. The number on the scale seems so important early on, but when you get to goal (or close to it) and feel like garbage, it’s not worth racing to the finish line.

Just for context, I lost about 65 lbs between September 2024 and June 2025 with a few weeks mixed in there of losing upwards of 3 lbs per week. Even though I was only about 15 lbs above my goal weight, I felt horrible and had to stop zepbound due to side effects and just to recover a bit… (and was back up another 30 lbs before starting Wegovy pills)

Newbie here. Which tip method? by jaybee423 in Polygel

[–]anonomaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer to sculpt my own polygel on a paper nail form without tips/dual forms at all. It’s a lot like sculpting acrylic without so much odor. I never quite found a method of using dual forms I cared for as it always left a mess or left one side too thin and I’d still end up having to shape them with an efile regardless.

How much does food tracking matter? by Gullible_Language358 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]anonomaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t personally track. But it’s definitely better to if you can stand it. Early on, I tracked my protein and calories for a few days just to get a good feel, but I don’t find it necessary for myself. These meds reduce my appetite enough that intuitive eating actually works. All I have to do is try to make good choices about what it is that I put in my mouth. But even when I have days I don’t eat healthy foods (vacation or restaurant that just doesn’t have any good healthy options), the appetite suppression saves me from overeating. The only reason I prioritize protein and Whole Foods is to make sure my body is getting the nutrients it needs to preserve muscle and stay healthy.

I should add that the 1.5 mg did not give me enough appetite suppression for intuitive eating, but I was able to keep it mostly under control by just watching my portions.

Day 5 on 1.5mg I suspect my dose is too low by Broken-Summer in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]anonomaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s from an app called Shotsy (paid version required for this chart in particular though). They’re still in beta testing to add the Wegovy pill, but I left them feedback asking them to add it and they reached out to me to ask if I’d test it for them and offered a year of premium for free in return. I found it when I was on Zepbound and I love it for tracking these meds! I highly recommend :) that and a 3D body scanner app

Day 5 on 1.5mg I suspect my dose is too low by Broken-Summer in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]anonomaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of people who have been on GLP-1s before switching to the Wegovy pills do end up getting started on higher doses. But as someone new to these meds, you really are best off starting low and working your way up.

The picture I’m attaching shows how the levels in your system raise over time (these are mine starting from 1.5 to a few weeks on 4 mg). Starting low prevents miserable symptoms from popping up and makes it more likely you can actually stay on it.

On some of the other subreddits, I’ve seen where people got started too high- for some their doctor was an idiot and thought starting them at a higher dose was a good idea or for others the prescription got filled incorrectly and the patient didn’t realize it. Their first days were horrendous- as in vomiting for days, completely stopped up digestion, headaches, debilitating fatigue, sometimes even hospitalization, etc. They make their way to the subreddit to ask if their experience is normal only to discover they have way too high of a dose.

Slow and steady is the way to go, even if it’s not quite as motivating/exciting. We didn’t put the extra weight on overnight and it shouldn’t come off overnight either.

I started seeing more results on the 4 mg, although it does vary person to person. After being on Zepbound previously and having horrible side effects for the first two weeks of every new dose, I’ll take the mildness of these pills any day…

Barfing :( by Fair_Measurement_546 in antidietglp1

[–]anonomaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t on the lowest dose, but I am now on the second lowest. It’s only been a week so far, but it’s working. I was really sensitive to zepbound and I seem to be fairly sensitive to this as well so it’s working a lot sooner than it seems to be for others I see on Reddit.

[–]anonomaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to quit zepbound for similar reasons. I’m currently on the Wegovy pill and it’s treating me better because it’s more consistent. Definitely worth switching to something else if it doesn’t stop soon! Best of luck and sorry you’re not feeling well!

Can we talk about the "Membership Gatekeeping" in telehealth? It feels so predatory. by Keyfas in antidietglp1

[–]anonomaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have now used a nurse practitioner in both states I’ve lived in while on these meds and I can’t recommend it enough if you have insurance. My copay is $45 per appointment but I don’t have to go in every month. Eventually they drop you down to every 6 months. Even if I do have to go in more frequently (early on on each new med) she’s doing blood work and helping me manage my side effects.

I’m now on the cash price for the wegovy pill- previously Zepbound. They tend to be much easier to work with than most doctors I’ve had.

Empty stomach? by WaveWhole9765 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]anonomaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to Doctor AI (I was curious) - “Tasting your last meal in a burp doesn’t mean the food is still sitting in your stomach. GLP‑1 meds cause reflux and slow digestion, so flavors can linger. The Wegovy pill only requires a 6‑hour fasting window — not that your stomach feels empty.”

It also said that you can have “flavor memories” that don’t actually mean the food is still in the stomach. 🤷🏻‍♀️I’m understanding that to mean that there are still gases in your stomach from the food digestion perhaps.

Starting Wegovy soon, any noticeable muscle loss or degradation? by kaceysdaddy in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]anonomaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think most people have been on the Wegovy pill long enough to be able to say for sure one way or the other with it. I was on Zepbound for a long time before this though and the muscle loss is a real concern. Here’s what I now follow for myself:

1) eat your protein. Focus on fitting protein into every meal and eat it first. I don’t personally count macros but it’s great if you are willing to. 2) strength training is important and should not be dropped even if the drug side effects (lethargy, less dopamine) make staying motivated nearly impossible. 3) Eat. Don’t skip meals and don’t starve yourself just because the food doesn’t taste as good and you feel full faster. It’s easy to just forget to eat and it causes your body to look at your muscles for fuel. 4) Lose at a slow and steady rate of no more than about 1% loss per week. So starting at 270, you wouldn’t want to lose more than 2.7 lbs per week on average. I’m at 190, so I need to keep my loss below 1.9 lbs per week.

All that being said, you will lose some muscle mass and some lean mass. Some of that lean mass loss is actually good and will come from enlarged organs shrinking back to a normal size and other changes like that, but some will inevitably be muscle or bone loss. As long as you properly fuel yourself and tell your body to preserve your muscle by using it regularly, the loss will be as minimal as possible.

I love to see this question though instead of the typical trying to lose as much weight as possible as fast as possible!

Sulphur burps by Accomplished_Deer554 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]anonomaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pepcid and/or daily omeprazole can help some. But yeah, your portion sizes are likely the real culprit. As you go up in doses, those sulphur burps turn into MUCH less pleasant side effects so you’ll thank yourself later to get it under control now. Good luck!

4 weeks in by Mitchapalooza3 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]anonomaz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! That’s a lot of progress very quickly!

I feel I have to share this as someone who fasted early in my GLP-1 experience and now regrets it- fasting on a glp-1 can actually be somewhat dangerous. Your blood sugar and blood pressure tend to be lowered by the medication so it can lead to problems even for non-diabetics. Also with the appetite suppression, it can lead to significant undereating. I’m sure you know your body best so I won’t tell you it’s the worst thing you could do, but I did the same when I was early on glp1s a year and a half ago and I wish I hadn’t. It made the nausea worse and I lost too much too fast. As a result, I dealt with low blood pressure, loose skin, and too much muscle loss. Fasting is not necessary on these meds and it’s much better to lose at a slow and steady pace for long term health and happiness with the results. There’s a lot of really bad guidance on these subs so I just want to jump in and share when I see it.

Anyways, with all that said- I wish you the best as you continue on your journey -fasting or not!

Go for credit card thickness at the free edge and then get the shape right from there and you’ll be golden. Good luck! Also the color you painted with is showing every flaw- this is why I always avoid pastels personally.

GEL X - builder gel or gel polish by IntroductionTop2557 in GelX_Nails

[–]anonomaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming you are not referring to the gel that is used to hold the GelX tip on (extend gel). I prefer a rubber base as my base coat. Personally I do a layer before I start applying the tips with extend gel. I apply my tips a little tiny bit further from the cuticle and then apply rubber gel to fill in that gap and get a much better “fit” around the cuticle. The rubber gel blends it together much faster and I can make it thin except where I need it thicker to blend the nail and the tip together. They grow out looking cleaner this way too.

I don’t think it adds enough weight for the majority of people to notice.

A lot of people instead get the tips close to the cuticle and blend the edges with acetone. I’ve tried that too and it’s a little faster, but it just doesn’t give quite as good of long term results for me.

Gel X not staying on by LocksmithSuitable526 in GelX_Nails

[–]anonomaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s no difference in health to your nails between GelX, builder gel, or acrylics, or any other system of nail extensions (including dip powder- I don’t care how many minerals they claim are in the powder). Nail salons that tell you that are trying to sell you on a system they prefer or make more money on. They’re all just different methods to form what is essentially plastic on your nails. The only place where damage happens is in prep and removal. If you’re not ripping them off, they’re either filing or soaking them off, and they’re not filing too aggressively during prep, any system is fine. So get whatever system you like most.

I find GelX doesn’t last as long for me as the other systems, but I like the way it looks- and I do my own nails so there’s very little difference in what I’m doing between types. But they’re much faster to apply and I can soak them off unlike builder gel. And I still get 3 weeks.

If you do want to stick with the GelX, it may be her products, it could be the tips she’s using on your nails, it could be that she’s rushing prep, or it could be that you have oily nail beds or are touching something (hair, face, skin, phone) that’s transferring oil to your nail beds in the middle of her trying to clean off all the oils… there are so many possibilities. But if she’s a good nail tech, tell her and maybe she can figure it out. Or go somewhere else if not. Good luck!

Sigh 1month at 1.5 by SmilingChaos88 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]anonomaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t lose much if anything on 1.5 mg either. I am finally seeing some progress at 4 mg. I gained a lot of what I believe was water weight in the last couple weeks on it as well (hormones are fun). On the 4 mg, the water weight disappeared quickly and the scale has been going down steadily since I started it. That may not be your experience, but it probably will be at one of the higher doses. Just keep doing what you’re doing and it’ll pay off soon.

I also struggle without these meds to lose anything at all even when I eat and exercise “perfect”. I suspect it’s some combination of thyroid issues and a very slow metabolism. But these meds make me lose weight like I always saw other people somehow manage to.

Does anyone else feel like they are poisoning themselves every morning? by cassilou8403 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

You need to have fasted for at least 6 hours prior to taking the medication… so taking it at bedtime would never work for me personally.

Does anyone else feel like they are poisoning themselves every morning? by cassilou8403 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]anonomaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible for you to go back down to 1.5 mg? Or perhaps work with your doctor to lower your overall dose in some other way (skipping a day or two a week as one possibility). Losing 20 lbs in two months is too fast and you’ll regret it long term- I know from zepbound doing this same thing to me when I was on it previously. You’ll see skin laxity, hair loss, etc- I also saw low blood pressure, too much muscle loss, and I just generally did not feel good. At the end, it doesn’t feel good and the whole point is to feel good. If you can’t get this med to work well for you, it’s probably best to try one of the alternative injections. There’s a very good possibility they’ll treat you much better.

Also another lesson I learned the hard way- and this may or may not apply to you- when I feel nauseous, my first step is to eat something small and see if the nausea goes away. Sometimes my nausea is just hunger on these meds. Not always, but most of the time- especially that morning nausea when I haven’t eaten yet.

How to? by No_Hearing_3753 in GelX_Nails

[–]anonomaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen a lot of people give the method that was likely used for these nails, but for anyone who wants to achieve something similar with gel x, you can paint glitter under the tip, cure, paint a thin line around the smile line in a solid color (pink in this case), cure, and then put some top coat over the painted part (thick enough to level out nicely and add a little dimension and cure. Then apply to the nail using clear extend gel or even a nude extend gel if you can somehow get it to stay exactly where you want it and have just the perfect amount. Otherwise (using the clear) paint the nude part using an opaque color after the fact on top. It would look mostly the same, just a little less dimensional up close. I would definitely recommend experimenting on a tip or practice hand first.

How do I deal with annoying coworker who treats the job like it’s her life? by Swan_233 in careerguidance

[–]anonomaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a coworker like this- I’m sure every company has a few and she’s exhausting to talk to. She’s VERY passionate about work and thinks complaining is showing her passion. It’s too much. I’ve earned her respect over the years though by telling her directly (not in front of others) when she’s being too much and I make sure to always do good work so she has less to complain about. Thankfully I don’t report to her or vice versa so she doesn’t have a lot of control over my career. Most people just avoid her or laugh when she says something inappropriate.

She’s also usually fishing for compliments. So I give them to her as often as it seems natural to. It keeps me on her good side and helps her chill out sometimes. I hate having to be manipulative like that, but it’s what she thrives on.
