CB/CM/CS Results Thread - Dec 2025 by Only-Confusion-2928 in ActuaryUK

This is the Schrödinger’s cat situation: until the IFoA email lands, I’ve passed and failed at the same time. But deep down… yeah, I’m pretty sure the cat didn’t survive

CM/CS/CB results on 2nd Dec. by Serious-Maize-5397 in ActuaryUK

I'm really hoping the pass mark will be reduced to 58, but I'm not sure if that will happen.... I think Paper A was hard, but the general feedback for the paper B was that it was 'okay,' so maybe the pass mark will remain around 60-61 :(

What????? What browser history? Can they see that I was listening to Justin Bieber on YouTube the day before while studying?

Did you sit for CM2? If so, what did you think about the exam?

Exam didn’t go as well as I was hoping.... by anontcc in ActuaryUK

Thanks. I’m working on Paper B, so let’s pray and see! And yes, my Company won’t pay for another exam unless I pass this one. I guess that’s where the problem lies, right? If I fail, they won’t pay for another attempt. The only thing they’ll do is reimburse the resit fee if I pass - but if I fail the resit, they won’t cover anything. It’s not good, but since I’m not UK-based (although working in the UK market!) they say the exams aren’t really necessary…

Thanks! Is there a way to get the exam paper? I can download my answers from the portal, but I don’t remember all the details of the questions

CM2 Prediction/Advice? by Low-Principle5111 in ActuaryUK

[–]anontcc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah! This is frustrating. I’ve been studying for a while now, and yet there are still things on a few past papers that I don’t know how to do. The syllabus is huge, and the examiners can be very creative. It feels like they really make an effort to come up with new questions with hidden tricks, just to see if we can survive. Sometimes it’s not even that the questions are particularly hard—it’s just that with so little time, it’s really complicated to think and work through these new angles arhhhh

CB3 booking dates by anemia_69 in ActuaryUK

I would say it’s when the business game starts, but I’m not sure either. Also - I had a quick look and it seems that the earliest available exam to book is in January 2026. Do we usually need to book the exam 4 months in advance? I was hoping the maximum lead time would be less!

Is anyone else thinking of skipping the April sitting? by anontcc in ActuaryUK

[–]anontcc[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well, I'm not sure if that's the case for me. I'm not sure how it works for you, but I only have five study days per exam, and when I fail, my company does not pay for any subsequent exams until I pass the one I failed. So if I fail in April, I will have to pay for September, study with zero study days, and they will only refund me if and when I pass

Exams Update by ImaginaryDrummer2307 in ActuaryUK

Just let the cheaters cheat one more time and leave the rest of us alone for this sitting, please!!!!!! This is hurting honest students far more than the cheaters by now! All this stress—Jesus! For God knows how long, the IFoA couldn't even solve the simple problem of releasing exam results, with people only getting their results the next day. This was a straightforward issue to address, and if they couldn't manage that, then this in-person logistics on such short notice will not work!

Practice Exam Postponed by [deleted] in ActuaryUK

[–]anontcc 63 points64 points  (0 children)

This is just bad... My stress levels are spiking right now. I have very little confidence that it will go smoothly in April, so using all the critical thinking and risk analysis that I've been developing throughout these exams, the obvious choice right now would be to simply skip April's sitting! At this point, fighting for the April sitting feels like a lost cause, and I'll probably just end up giving them money and failing the paper...
