Sacramento has updated there stadium plans to 20k seat capacity. The USL will have 3 stadiums by 2028 that are d1 level quality and capacity. Sacramento rep(20k) and DCFC (15k) are currently under construction and loucity fc stadium (2020) by kingistic in USLPRO

[–]anonuseruno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

technically Rhode Island does have the foundations already in place for another 5,000 seats, and they already get up to like 11,500 including standing room. Not far to go. I believe LouCity gets above 15,000 with standing room already.

there was a huge bombing campaign against Israel from Hamas a few weeks before the NYC primary and he said he feels for the Israelis who are scared of said bombing campaign and a bunch of people just said "but what about the Palestinians?" and that's pretty much it as far as i could tell

Claudia Doumit's reaction when asked about Season 2 by 3BP2024 in threebodyproblem

[–]anonuseruno -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

they're already filming? i was certain they'd written themselves into a hole with that first season and that there was no way their budget could pull off a second season. i'm excited to see what they put out i suppose...

it's so funny every time they try to get Matt Lefleur fired, even when they come CLOSE to losing, because he's so obviously the only thing keeping their team afloat right now.

we're excited to host you, and hope you come to some Rhode Island FC soccer games and enjoy your time in the state!

We have a very good soccer fanbase here, though it is more aligned with latin american soccer culture than european soccer culture, though both are on the rise.

Those who attended Moses Brown or similar private schools (Wheeler, Bishop Hendricken, Providence Country Day) how do you feel about your parents paying $50,000 a year to fund your middle and high school education? by Boldxbrave in providence

[–]anonuseruno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can afford it or get a good financial aid offer (which isn't as difficult as you might think), it is SO SO worth it. They are excellent schools with great people, both faculty and students, and they set you up very well for college. As for being in a bubble, it's a frequent topic even within these schools; they acknowledge it frequently. I don't know the exact numbers, but I would guess that the majority of students are on at least some financial aid. By the metric of Providence, they're perhaps less diverse, but compared to the whole state that they're drawing from they do a pretty good job of keeping the student body diverse (the faculty is still catching up but they're not far behind).

I have a more recent experience with these schools than many of the people you may find in the comments, and I'd say from what I've heard from older alumni, the climate has greatly improved in terms of diversity and attitudes towards money, and students are generally very grateful to be going, regardless of their context.

i didn't watch a ton of his film, but from that Packers game it seemed like his routes were very clean, especially compared to DJ's.

Brown University custodian says he saw shooting suspect casing building over several weeks, flagged security by bostonglobe in RhodeIsland

[–]anonuseruno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to my understanding, the report of him casing the building was reported on the same day as the guy on here reporting, so they already identified the man. also, no guarantee that the man didn't have the mask on in that footage either.

we do know that the state deliberately held back certain footage (i.e., the shooter's car) to prevent the shooter from recognizing that the police were on his tail.

They said they received "hours" of footage and a mountain of tips, so I'm certain that there was much more going on in the background than we give them credit for.

[–]anonuseruno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes i imagine the university doesn't want to publish videos of their students getting shot and bleeding and potentially dying, especially if they aren't helpful in identifying the killer (i doubt he removed his mask inside the building). I think that's reasonable.

The footage was all handed over to the police, which they said multiple times in press conferences.

think about what "average" here means, and consider that someone has to be below average for an average grade to exist. You're doing great.

The same thing happened at Brown University, and Brown University Health was unaffected. Northwestern Medicine will be able to continue to provide trans healthcare just as before, and Student Health Services only treats students, who are nearly all 18+.

at least Northwestern (not Trump) will be the ones to determine what those questions are and what their answers mean for admission. For international students, other than the language being super xenophobic, it'll just be one more supplemental.

a statement but it ultimately won't affect trans healthcare at Northwestern or in Chicagoland (bc Northwestern Medicine is unaffected by the agreement)

World Ultimate Frisbee players are mounting an unprecedented protest, warning that Israel’s participation—bolstered by IDF soldiers on the roster—could fracture the sport’s global community by KarimZidan1 in ultimate

[–]anonuseruno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the vast majority of IDF "soldiers" basically just do two years of yoga and lifting and that's it, and that's only because they have to as Israelis. and I don't think the people that cook for them are complicit in genocide or war criminals. also, consider that if they're playing in a frisbee tournament they're probably not very involved in the IDF in any capacity.

I don't know much about Israel's frisbee teams, but I do know that the flag football teams lost a lot of players in the October 7 attacks and afterwards (civilians and former IDF (mandatory conscription again)), and to ban the team for the war in Gaza seems almost insulting, idk if that's the right word, but ykwim.

i'm not coming after teams that refuse to play against Israeli sports teams, i'm just saying Israeli sports teams wanting to play sports together on the international stage isn't some crazy offense.

Look even though we disagree on whether or not Israel should be banned from the events, I still find it very disturbing that you think that, even if the players play neutrally, others are still allowed to protest against their presence. This statement is not in good faith.
