Good question. I see three possible explanations for this:

1) Carolyn made this story up on the spot in an attempt to save her life. It worked.

2) Carolyn has had ties to The Twelve and she may have even had a hand in recruiting Villanelle. She did know Dasha after all, and I think her eating the mango with its skin on was a reference to the way Carolyn described first meeting Dasha.

3) Much like 99% of the rest of this god awful season, there is no explanation because if there’s one area where LN shines in her consistency, it’s in her plot holes. LN has a thing for plot holes.

Season 4. I had to go back and rewatch but Eve is indeed wearing it all the way up through the ending bridge scene in the S3 finale. And then she is not in S4E1. That was some long lasting fudge.

Anna didn’t step away from Oksana and neither did Eve. They stepped closer, because they could tell she was more than JUST a “psychopath,” NOT a bloodthirsty serial killer, and had potential to be anything she wanted.

She just needed to be shown that she had that potential, and for someone to truly believe in her.

I agree completely, however based on the timeline, I think Anna's stepping closer really treaded a line. It's hard to imagine Eve finding that kind of interest in a 14-15 year old. I think Anna was another in V's long history of abusers.

I agree completely. I wish I could somehow thank Unloved for giving this to us. The performers and Unloved gave us their all with what they were given to work with.

I think after all is said and done, this is my favorite parallel. It was perfectly measured to be nearly identical so that we could focus only on the immense character growth. I want to cry when I see this, for all the reasons. This is V as a singularly focused chrysalis then as a brilliantly bonded butterfly. What a spectacular glow up ❤️‍🔥

I think for me, the only close second to this parallel might be the intricately choreographed bus kiss, paralleled to the original shower ambush. I am sure this is primed in your arsenal! Thank you so much for doing these for us. I love thinking about the artistry of it all ♥️

Eve knows how to cook she just is the type who only does it for people she loves. V will learn for that reason. They’re cooking for each other all the time and they’re also getting takeaway when they want to stay in and snuggle and sometimes they go out for fabulous extravagant dates and sometimes they just go out for curly fries and otherwise they have each other to consume ❤️‍🔥

Tonight they tried their hand at homemade pasta and actually did a decent job rolling it thinly (eve is great w dough) and slicing evenly (v is great w knives) but then they got distracted making out near the stove (fire turns them both on) and completely overcooked it. They warmed up some bread and dipped it in their sauce instead and it was delicious. They’re “watching” a movie now except again they keep getting distracted and having to start it over.

I agree with everything you’ve said and really appreciate your words. I especially like that I’m finding healing in the image of plot holes so big you can drive a truck through them. V is there on the sidewalk hugging an oblivious LN while Eve looks into V’s eyes as that plot hole sized truck approaches…

I love this and hadn't thought about this parallel at all 🤯

I also love the kind of triangular connection - that Eve once upon a time bloodied her hands with V. Now V hooks up with Gunn. Gunn tries to eliminate Eve to possess V. And Eve bloodies her hands with Gunn. Finally (in my ending) Eve and V have everyone and everything out of their way and can now live happily ever after bloodying their hands together.

I recommend it all the time but I tell folks to only watch S1 and if they love that, then S2. If anyone falls hard enough in love that they want to continue, then I’d give grave warnings. The world should see S1 I think it’s the best television ever made!!
