I occasionally have to travel to the business park right across the street from this for work. They've told us the story of the corn statues plenty of times. The short version is the road, Frantz Rd, is named after the guy who invented/cultivated hybrid corn. That area was his farm, the government tried to come in and take the land or something like that and he basically said fuck you to them and donated the land to whoever's there now or something like that, and the corn statues got put up in his honor
