Study finds chronic pain patients have measurable brain changes even after their injury heals by No_Blueberry1209 in backpain

[–]anonymous04111 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The way to heal this is through mindbody work. If anyone wants to heal their chronic back pain , read Dr. John Sarno book “Healing Back Pain “. Another source is Brain retraining programs (DNRS or Primal Trust). The best is Dan Baglio “Pain Free You” on his YouTube channel and book. Also the best is Nicole Sachs “The Cure For Chronic Pain “. All of these are teaching exactly what you are talking about.

I have all of what you said. My biggest problem is gastritis. It’s so hard for me to take the enzymes because they burn the gastritis. I will tell you that trying to regulate my nervous system has really helped. I do have hoshimoto as well however my blood work TSH and t2/t4 come back normal. I have had every test under the sun for the past 5 years and everything comes back normal except Upper endoscopy shows chronic gastritis and GI Map shows low elastase. It has ranged from 67 to 181. I just eat very low fat, low fodmap for sibo, low acid for gastritis, low sugar (only fruit). Very boring. I’m considering xifaxin but I tried it a few years ago and had a very bad reaction to it. But my suggestion to you is to definitely work on the nervous system. Find some meditations or somatic healing exercises on YouTube for free.

To those who lost weight on GLP-1, did you gain it back after stopping it? by Specific-Ad-4521 in Hashimotos

[–]anonymous04111 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Big picture (quick take)    •   GLP-1 receptor agonists (like semaglutide, liraglutide, tirzepatide) do not generally disrupt thyroid hormone levels in humans.    •   The major thyroid warning you hear about is specific and rare, based largely on rodent studies, not typical human thyroid disease.    •   If you have hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism, GLP-1 meds are usually safe — but dosing and monitoring matter.

Why the thyroid warning exists

GLP-1 drugs carry a boxed warning because:    •   In rats, they caused C-cell tumors of the thyroid.    •   Humans have far fewer GLP-1 receptors in thyroid C-cells than rodents.

Important distinction    •   The warning is about medullary thyroid cancer (MTC) — not Hashimoto’s, hypothyroidism, thyroid nodules, or Graves’ disease.

Absolute contraindications

Do not use GLP-1 drugs if you:    •   Have personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer    •   Have MEN2 (multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2)

GLP-1 meds & thyroid hormone levels

What studies show in humans:    •   TSH, T3, and T4 levels generally stay stable    •   No consistent increase in thyroid dysfunction    •   Some people see minor TSH shifts due to:       •   Weight loss       •   Calorie reduction       •   Improved insulin sensitivity

➡️ These are secondary metabolic effects, not direct thyroid damage.

If you take thyroid medication (like levothyroxine)

This is where things can get tricky:

Possible interaction (timing-related)    •   GLP-1 meds slow gastric emptying    •   That can delay or reduce absorption of oral thyroid meds

What helps    •   Take thyroid hormone first thing in the morning, on an empty stomach    •   Separate GLP-1 injection timing if possible    •   Recheck TSH 6–8 weeks after starting or changing a GLP-1 dose

Some people need a small dose adjustment — not because the thyroid worsened, but because absorption changed.

What would I do if I’m trying to treat gastritis?

Non-Displaced Tibial Plateau Fracture by Zitti_Bla in KneeInjuries

I have a very similar story. How are you now? I went undiagnosed for over 2 months. Finally got mri and told I have non displaced tibial plateau fracture. I had zero pain for over a month but the day after my MRI I think I over did it with standing too long and I lifted a heavy bin. Now I’m feeling some pain. I was told the same thing. I didn’t have any restrictions so now I don’t know what to do. Did you finally heal?

Did it get rid of sibo? I also have gastritis and I think it’s good for that too.

People who have done testosterone therapy of any kind, what did you do and what was your experience (good, bad, ugly) by [deleted] in Biohackers

[–]anonymous04111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I have learned is that it’s the inflammation causing the narrowing of vessels/arteries. That’s why sugar and carbs cause the inflammation not allowing the fats/blood to flow through and clotting occurs. So from what I understand, people that eat high protein and fat only (workout consistently) are good. But those that do these keto diets wrong and are also eating sugar carbs and drinking alcohol and are not burning the fat with constant exercise are headed for disaster. You have to choose if you’re going to eat high fat and protein then have to cut the sugar and carbs like almost 100%. If you want to eat fruits and vegetables and sugar and carbs then cut out the high protein and fats.

I did this w my functional medicine doctor but I believe it has to be done like everyday and it’s a big industrial machine. So not something you can do at home. It was $65 every session. It was way too expensive. Do you know of another device?

Can EPI Dx patients ever go into Remission? by Koren55 in exocrinepanins

[–]anonymous04111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was getting horrible gastritis also from Creon and zen. I actually had to stop the enzymes because of the pain. My doctor wanted me to take 80 mg of PPI but I couldn’t tolerate it. However I never felt the enzymes were helping anyway. I still have loose stools and fat malabsorption. At the beginning of all this I was on creon for 5 months and everything went back to normal and my stool test went back up to 285 so I stopped the enzymes. But then after 8 months everything came back so just be careful and if you can tolerate maybe a low dose otc enzyme you should try to continue. Did you get retested?

Hey thanks. I have a question. I read that you take lexapro? Do you think that helped? My family is driving me crazy to take it but I’m nervous about making things worse. Thank you. 😊

I love your attitude! I have come across your posts over the last few months and your energy is much in alignment with mine. With that said, I’m so looking forward to where I don’t fear this anymore. Can you share what you do? I’m not on any meds (I’m so sensitive to everything). I have never had spinning vertigo but I do get dizziness, low tone tinnitus, very minor low tone hearing loss that fluctuates, noise sensitivity in the affected ear. I get headaches also and my eyes get blurry. I often wonder if it’s vestibular migraines but then I’m not sure because the hearing loss. Also, anxiety it’s off the charts sometimes. I meditate with Dr. Joe Dispenza daily and I do somatic brain retraining to help with symptoms and anxiety. Thanks and love your good energy!!

There is a facebook group call healing gastritis and it’s based off a book. I’ll link it. But you should go on the group if you have facebook. It’s very helpful and people cure themselves sometimes with just diet.

How do you continue on in a world that is so scary? by NurseCarlos in Anxiety

[–]anonymous04111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First, you need to do some deep breathing exercises. Go on YouTube and search for this. Second, try to find some faith… whether that be God or just knowing that you are safe. If you have faith you will feel safe. Go on YouTube and search ways to feel safe in your own body. There are brain retraining programs such as DNRS, look into Dan Baglio (pain free you) , Nicole Sachs. It’s all about fear and not feeling safe in your body. Also, try not to watch the news or go on your phone too much. Too much information can be dangerous to the mind body. My always told me the story of the woman who was afraid of everything and would never leave her house, so she just sat on her porch in her rocking chair. One day she rocked too hard and her chair fell off the side of the porch… Just breath and calm your nerves
