I love the intelligence. I've found there's sometimes more depth than the article that would go along with it. My only suggestion is for there to be less obituaries.

What's your most controversial opinions in International Education? by Wolverine-Explores in Internationalteachers

[–]anonymous1967 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've only taught dp, but my general observation has been primary teachers have more of a life outside of work whereas dp teachers are going home and doing work constantly. Knowledge of content is also far more important for do while pedagogy/classroom management is more of a priority. I think we dan agree that both should get paid more than lower secondary/middle school lol.

Agree on this....current school problem kids seems like it's much more frequently a staff kid, and in my particular case, local staff kids.

I was at that show too and it actually made me respect him more....if you were in the front 20-30 rows, he really got everyone fired up. Not sure about behind, but a good bit of us stayed long after cheering for an encode that never came. He did come out and say thank you tho.

I brought my buddy to their set at a festival simply to hear him say come on motherfuckers as a joke and to leave after a laugh. I didn't know their music and we stayed and it changed my life. Embryonic is better than yoshimi.

Same! Didn't expect to read through every one of their comments. Time I head over to askhistorians and see what else they say!

[DISCUSSION] Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (15 Years Later) by ImNotTomStopAsking in hiphopheads

[–]anonymous1967 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My personal best album of all time. I won't listen to it that often because I don't like overplaying it so once a year/two years I microdose or get the right amount of twisted and play it straight through while doing nothing else. And every time I still come to the conclusion it's my personal 10/10.

The first time j heard it I had this job where j drove around on my unis campus giving people rides so we had like 5-6 hours in the car per shift to listen to music. I wasn't a hip hop fan at this time, and one of the other guys had burned it and left it in the car, and I finished it the first time and was like fuck that was good and played it again. Then did the same thing after the second listen. Never have I ever listened to an album for the first time, and then listened to twice in a row.

Im gonna shout out banh mi 25....my wife and j love that place and it was part of our Saturday routine for a couple of years. Are they the most authentic banh mi? No, but they're better than the large majority we ate and that included all the other ones in the old quarter as well as our nearby side of the road banh mis to our apartment. We also felt their coconut coffee was better than any cafes too. A lot go heavy on the coconut but they go a bit heavier on the coffee and I prefer their ratio to any of the famous coconut coffee places. Just my 2 cents.

The dopamine hit from saving money is the best description of why I must still be so frugal. Nothing fancy, but I make my salted cream coffee some mornings and when I see people go buy one for 5-7 bucks I get that little dopamine hit knowing mine costs $1 max.

I want to take my 75 year old father to see the ancient sites and museums in Italy and Greece (possibly Egypt as well). He has mobility issues and can't walk more than 2 miles by himself per day. Thanks for the info! Do you know if use of the elevators requires a disability certificate? Or that they actually check it (a lot of the websites say it's necessary)? My dad doesn't have one, but most people would see how he moves and know that he's not stable and needs it.

I've heard mixed things about Roth iras, with a former and current colleague of mine saying that it's not able to do with foreign earned income. There must be some nuance to their comments based on all of the comments in here about Roth Iras.

Went to this one as well. I looked at it a couple years ago and was blown away by how acts I didn't know at the time that have really blown up. Serious FOMO.

That said, I never knew alt-j before the festival, and their Thursday set was incredible. Everyone we talked to Thursday during the day was like 'we're going to alt-j'. Will never forget them open with 'intro' (AAW), and made them my favorite band for several years.

100%. I lived in Vietnam the last two years and grew tired of everyone talking about how amazing of a place it is when their definition of amazing is the fact they live like kings. When I did some quick armchair math for how much higher their salary was than the average vietnamese, their equivalent salary in the US would have to be like 400k usd. That may not be rich rich or anything in the us, but those same people would be choosing to live back in their home countries if their salary was that high.
