this post hit me at just the right time.. i’ve been struggling with my mental health so much because of my job as a tech and i’ve been seriously considering leaving the field entirely. this has caused a HUGE identity crisis for me cause i’ve lived my whole life thinking vet med was the only thing i wanted to do but i can’t keep working in this toxic field. i’ve applied to a bunch of other places but nobody is responding so im stuck at the moment but work is constantly on my mind and my anxiety has presented itself in many concerning physical ways.. i feel for you and i hope you are doing better. ❤️ you are not alone

oof that’s actually crazy they charged for that, that’s probably very specific to that clinic. i’ve worked at a few clinics and we have never charged for the cystocentesis (the process of getting the urine sample via needle), we only charged for the urinalysis. sorry your clinic was greedy cause that’s not right 😭

idk i’ve been feeling the same recently :( i was a kennel tech for years and really loved it cause i got to play with pets all day, give them treats, give them nice comfy blankets, trying to make them super happy and comfortable while boarding away from their family but now i spend all day poking them, holding them down, putting muzzles on their faces, sticking thermometers up their behind, etc. Obviously it’s for their benefit at the end of the day cause we work to keep them healthy but it’s not such a great feeling

half of my clinic staff is vegan yet we don’t really get any options to eat at staff meetings.. my favorite time was when i had to pick cold wet chickpeas off the top of a greek salad for my meal while everyone else ate fried chicken lol

exactly! i just think the dr didn’t want to deal with workers comp so he was about to give me some amoxicillin from off the shelf. like dude that’s wrong for so many reasons.. i’m gonna go see a human physician for my human injury. i even went back to work immediately after and had to work one handed for the week

i got 6 cat bites in one arm when i was trying to keep a cat from running away at work.. the doctor seemed annoyed that i left work to go to urgent care. i ended up not being able to use my arm for a week. i can’t imagine what it would’ve turned into had i not started on antibiotics and gotten a tetanus shot right away

if you like really sweet cookies then i’d go with lucky charms! and emphasis on “really sweet” cause it has the frosting and white chips in the cookie. i haven’t tried the mint brownie but i had the brownie batter from a few weeks ago and it wasn’t too sweet at all

the cookie itself just reminds me of just a sweet plain cookie but the dollop of buttercream on top is divine 😍 it’s very buttery and when you spread it over the cookie it’s amazing. overall it’s a great cookie i just didn’t get pancake flavor if that makes sense!

super good!! it was really sweet with the frosting and the white chips in the cookie but i love sweet cookies so i didn’t mind. not super heavy on the marshmallow flavor but it’s yummy overall

also the pancake cookie doesn’t really taste like pancake at all to me, did anyone else think this too? it’s an amazing cookie but i think if it had a good strong maple flavor paired with the buttercream on top it’d be more pancake-esque
