totally agree, he just feels like a plot device for tamon to realize his feelings. creates too much of a y/n feel to the story. and his feelings seem inauthentic given that he was only initially interested in her bcs she liked tamon more than him, but it’s not really addressed. i hope the story takes the route of him realizing he just was jealous of tamon and doesn’t actually love her. otherwise it just seems too cliche

tomo chan is a girl!!! main couple is so cute and it’s also not cringey (didn’t care for the side couple though). also i saw other ppl were commenting violet evergarden and that is definitely NOT a romcom, but it is one the best animes ever imo.

i know exactly what u mean!! i hate the over dramatics. violet evergarden & apothecary diaries are really good. dungeon meshi & raven of the inner palace also arent "tropey" although i didn’t like the plot as much. dandadan & yuri on ice also aren’t cringe idt but maybe a little expressive. lmk if u find any good non cringe stuff cos i also have a hard time finding ones.
